I thought executive lounges had free refreshments? Is that different to business class lounges ?

Josianne if you are flying Business Class or First Class you get free entry into the appropriate Airlines Lounge. Once inside all food, drink (including champagne) newspapers and in some cases beauty treatments are free.

Lucca you are correct, if you are not eligible by your flight ticket it’s possible to pay to get into one of the generic lounges at Heathrow, not overly expensive, once inside all is free.

Yes, we get free hospitality with our Amex platinum card. It's worth the annual fee just for that.

If he was BA First Class, the lounge is very nice.

I don't think he's claiming for it MaizieD I think he's declaring he received use of the lounge which cost £1,800 as a freebie as part of his freebie holiday.

Man with (at least) three houses needs fourth house for holiday and 'magically' is given that free by people who want a)tax cuts for air travel and b) a peerage. All sounds perfectly fine and fair, move along now, nothing to see here.

We're plebs who only spent about £50 each (discounts available online) for transit lounges at HKIA and Changi!

Food, drinks, showers, even a sleep in a bed if you had enough time.
