Lilibet Diana Mountbatten- Windsor, born on Friday.
Good choice of names! tcrsmile ?

Rosalyn69 Thu 10-Jun-21 11:15:06

I agree with the poster who said they should just go away and keep quiet but that’s not their plan.
I find the choice of names “creepy”.

That ship has sailed trisher. I don’t think Andrew will ever be ‘trotted out again.’

trisher Thu 10-Jun-21 10:41:53

Anyone want to take a bet on how long it will be before Andrew is trotted out again and deemed to be sensible (or perhaps in his case gives good relationship advice)?

Aveline

By the time Harry is Edward's age I suspect he'll look back on this stage of his life and cringe - as well he might.

I think Harry’s children will look back at all this Aveline and they probably won’t like what they see. Harry is obviously an ungrateful son to his father, I suspect Harry’s children will be no different than he is or most teenagers/young people are and they’ll dislike the awful attention that this will undoubtedly bring to them. My opinion only.

trisher How many of us can say we didn’t make mistakes when we were young? What’s important is to learn from them, not keep repeating the same errors of judgment again and again, and in Edward’s case it appears that has happened. His interview is on BBC news online this morning, and he was very diplomatic in his responses, supportive but not gushing.

JaneJudge Thu 10-Jun-21 10:20:02

what did Edward say? he went on This Morning?

Circumstances and people change trisher. Edward appears to have matured into a supportive son to the Queen.

eazybee Thu 10-Jun-21 10:01:09

Yes, Edward is regarded as a sensible man because he appears to have learned/is learning from his past mistakes.
Harry, by contrast, blames everyone but himself for his own stupidity.

trisher Thu 10-Jun-21 09:49:36

Amazing isn't it Edward who once tried to make his way into the entertainment industry with Ardent productions. Lost millions, tried to cash in on his Royal connections and still failed is now regarded as a "sensible" royal! news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/1566416.stm
Bad Royal - Good Royal!!!
16000 Americans use the name Lillibet but apparently it still belongs to our queen,

Callistemon Thu 10-Jun-21 09:43:45

It started with such promise but I am so cynical now.
I think Harry's been had by the short and curlies.

Anniebach Thu 10-Jun-21 09:27:16

Edward gave an interview with BBC this morning, sensible man.

FannyCornforth Thu 10-Jun-21 09:22:15

I bet he (the D of E) is turning in his grave. His 100th birthday today too

FannyCornforth Thu 10-Jun-21 09:20:52

If the child was a boy, what would they have named him?
Phil the Greek?

GrannySomerset Thu 10-Jun-21 09:14:51

A Greek tragedy in the making. So much for a quiet and private life!

Wouldn’t anyone think that Harry had more pressing concerns at this moment than saying he’s going to to sue the BBC? This is the first week of his baby daughter’s life and he’s getting embroiled in all this ridiculous tit for tat. How sad it all is. It’s more than sad, it’s childish and pathetic.

Still think she should have been called Sue - what is Harry on?
Just felt like adding this here ?

I taught a child in London in 1965 called Lillette.
Another girl was called Novalette.

????

Ellianne Thu 10-Jun-21 01:50:29

It has all the elements of a Greek tragedy. It is going to end in disaster for Harry if he doesn't stop getting so angry about everything to do with the RF.
I agree, how sad when he should be enjoying his new baby girl. Memories of her birth will always be marred by this stupid row, of his own doing.

Callistemon Wed 09-Jun-21 23:40:10

Yes, it's very strange indeed.

I don't suppose the pair gave a thought as to why no one else thought of using the name If anyone had of, it would have been the queen's daughter Anne but she called her daughter Zara. Some things Royal are just 'not done' regards the queen

eazybee Wed 09-Jun-21 22:34:06

What an oaf Harry has turned out to be.

theworriedwell Wed 09-Jun-21 22:11:05

Just to add my DH did phone his mum straight after mine, he didn't leave her out.

theworriedwell Wed 09-Jun-21 22:09:46

Elegran

Perhaps Meghan phoned her mum while Harry was phoning his gran?

Maybe she did. I was thinking when mine were born, DH phoned my mum while I was still being stitched as he knew she was anxious, I'd hope my SIL would do the same if DD has a baby. Perhaps her mum is made of sterner stuff, I admit I'm a worrier and my mum was the same.

theworriedwell Wed 09-Jun-21 22:03:48

Callistemon

Perhaps her mother was there with her

I read she wasn't. Maybe she was with Archie?
