This is why I find none of this offensive, but it is worrying.
As a non-believer I don't get offended by any reference to religions or religious holidays, certainly not on Gransnet. I expect Johnson will give a nice Easter message tomorrow, as no doubt will Sturgeon and Drakeford. I expect someone will mention Passover as well. Usually they are all very careful in how they word the messages to avoid alienating anyone. All good.
But when one member of one political party just publishes a tweet that says "Good Friday. Conservatives", and an image of the central symbol of that religion, then the underlying effect is that they are associating their brand with Christianity. There's no good wishes, no commentary. Just "Good Friday. Conservatives". When political parties start to associate themselves with religion we're on a slippery slope.
So, not offended, not "woke"
, just worried about how the Conservatives, and Zahawi in particular, think they are insinuating themselves into places they don't belong.
