According to the Guardian, ‘a spokesman ‘ said the decision was to keep down the numbers. Not one of the new peerages was awarded to a non white recipient.

Does the Queen not have a say in this as head of CoE etc?

If they give it to all the others why not this guy? Although think the House of Lords archaic rubbish best done away with ??

This peerage business is a farce.

I'm not in favour of anyone being in the House of Lords. It's archaic and a waste of money. About time it was dropped.

Arch Bishops are automatically offered a seat in the Lords.
It is so wrong that Arch Bishop Sentamu was not given the
offer to take a seat

RC has had the MBE and CBE.

I suppose that lots and lots of people do good things to help others. Some are more high profile than others. It's often a matter of who you know...

I wonder why Richard Curtis has not had an honour for his work with Children in Need. Maybe he has turned it down.
