been wondering what the post was - strange.

Look at the disruptions of recent days;
Exam results and fudged response from Education secretary , passing the buck, stretching the truth about when he really knew about the algorithm,
increase in covid figures
;
Migrants in small boats and Patel's response,
News of contract to work on Ofqual awarded to long term associates of Gove and Cummings without tender.
Not removing whip from MP accused of rape.
So it goes on .Surely a P.M worth his salt should give the nation the impression he is in charge. As usual Johnson is nowhere to be seen.

It’s strange Jabberwok....but obviously some sensitive soul reported your comment, try saying F...O.. next time and see what happens.?
On a thread a few weeks ago I had a post deleted and very near that comment, trisher had a post deleted,.....
Neither of us could remember a word of what we had posted, so it was very mysterious.?
No, they very rarely tell you more than that, Jabberwok, (though my experience is not at all extensive; I think I've had about 4 deleted over as many years).
No, Just a standard reminder of GN guidelines! I presumed it was the word awful, as I couldn't think what else it could have been!!! Perhaps they will at some point enlighten me if it's something else!
I’m not convinced that the various mitigation that the Treasury has put in place can be classed as either right or left wing.
I think a form of Keynesian economics is being used to provide a platform from which the economy can be supported or grown.
This would be used by a politician of any colour.
It is what happens once this all calms down (if ever) that matters. That is whether austerity is reintroduced along with tax breaks etc. Then it becomes a political choice.
I am increasingly confused by the moderating of GNHQ, maybe it is down to who is working and their personal opinion?
Really, lemon, when you talk about the government doing 'left wing' things you're really only covering the economy.
But there is a lot far right stuff going on that people aren't noticing; possibly because they approve or because they don't understand how our freedom and parliamentary democracy work.
I cannot imagine who on earth would have reported your now deleted post, Jabberwok. There was nothing awful about it at all. Did Gnet tell you that it was because you used the word 'awful'?
Whatever our usual disagreements might be, I am as puzzled as you are about the deletion. And about why anyone would have bothered to report it...
Is awful a word you can't use on here, but F is ok, telling someone to shut up is ok, calling people names, ridiculing sneering and undermining on a personal level is ok! but saying that people to do that are awful, is not ok! How weird is that! I must learn to us foul language, sneer and jeer, then I'll be ok!!
Anyone watch the speech Johnson gave to the children at school.
I have never heard such rubbish in all my life.
Lighten up LG it is possible that my remarks were not a dig at anyone but a light-hearted observation.
lemongrove
Yes, thank you growstuff I did know the facts and figures surrounding this.
I assumed you didn't because it's a pathetic amount.
lemongrove
Nope Furret I merely mentioned that fact ( what a Socialist government would do) to show how Johnson et al are not fiercely right wing as a few on GN like to think, and to highlight the fact that a Socialist government could hardly have done more to help people keep their jobs.
A socialist government would have paid compensation in line with something like jury service.
Johnson isn't traditionally right-wing (in the same ways the Nazis weren't), which is why he has some of the Tory backbenchers frothing at the mouth.
Yes, thank you growstuff I did know the facts and figures surrounding this.
A socialist government - well, any government actually committed to making something work - would pay an amount which would realistically compensate for lost earnings.

lemongrove Do you know how much the government is paying and who will be eligible? It makes a good headline, but it's not really much incentive.
Only those in areas of high infection (eg Manchester) and already claiming WTC/UC. It works out at £13 a day for 10 days.
This is all getting too surreal, with grandad allegedly swings to the right (talking politics not dressing) and lemongrove embracing socialist principles.
Jabberwock have a bit of charity?it’s all that keeps some posters going ( cheap digs at government and Johnson) since Labour have been out of power for oh so very long!
Grandad1943 is right about Starmer ( and I quite like KS) but he’s hardly going for the throat is he? Usually the opposition can make a meal out of the most trivial thing that the government is doing or saying, but Starmer is very quiet indeed. He shouldn’t be waiting around for PMQ’s!
I wonder what everyone thinks about the government paying extra money to those workers on low wages( who have benefits) so that they are a bit happier about self isolating if they need to? Good isn’t it?Kind of thing a Socialist government would do,
( in fact most of what the government has done is just that, ever since lockdown in March.)Hardly the mark of a very
right wing government. They have done all the things I hoped they would do to help working people.
Trouble is that Boris is a sitting target and too easy a shot to miss, continuing your ‘ducks in a line’ analogy. Perhaps he’s wary of pushing a Tory leadership change in the unlikely chance they find someone more capable.
Starmer hasn't gone away, he is just getting his ducks in a row before taking the safety catch off his shotgun. He hasn't vanished from the political scene, as shown by the number of articles about him in the media in the last few days, if you look for them.

Yes, trisher- indeed
he will go on the attack all in right time... soon. PMQ is going to be amazing.
Me too MaisieD
Ooh you are awful- but I like you! Really if that's the only support anyone can dredge up for Boris things are worse than I imagined. Maybe Starmer has the right idea-give the man enough rope!
