Trump has finally lost it.....

The problems of America can be traced back to the to 1971 when president Nixon visited China. Nixon was aware that China could provide an end to the Vietnam war which was tearing the United States apart.

Along with the above Nixon believed that if China could be encouraged to leave it's then isolation and become democratic, Amerian industry would be able to sell into that huge population and large profits would be made.

However, the American manufacturing industry over the years has moved it's production to China leaving large areas of the United States impoverished and without well paid employment.

Trump.promised to return that manufacturing and wealth to American shores and that in may ways secured his victory.

Make America Great Again rang well in the rust belt states and very many other American households throughout the United States.

I don’t think there was one sentence he spoke during that interview that wasn’t nonsensical. Why doesn’t someone actually say to him Mr President your talking absolute rubbish you’re not making any sense I don’t understand your gibberish.

Trump is indeed a narcissist, a bully who promised to behave as President in the way he did as a "businessman". As Elegran says, he failed in business, losing his inheritance and ruining people who backed him. His behaviour as President threatens to ruin the country that backed him.
Is he developing dementia? His inability to cope with a polite interviewer, his bluster and confused look are reminiscent of people in his age group where close friends and family ask each other 'have you noticed... do you think we should get him to see a doctor?" His use of vocabulary is diminishing. Another sign of dementia.

He seems to be losing support from some women and it's a mystery to me how the sensible Republicans can continue to deny they have a significant problem.

But he isn't telling it as it is, he is telling it as his own distorted view sees it.

That view has himself as a wise benevolent leader surrounded by people hellbent on destroying him because of their jealousy of his success in business and his superiority in every field - a kind of superman in chains.

The reality is a paranoid and ignorant narcissist who lacks the ability to absorb expert reports from his advisors or to understand basic concepts like the effect of bleach on the lining of the alimentary canal or that the law banning a powerful leader from benefitting financially from his position applies to him too.

His "business experience" consisted of failing in every enterprise he headed, losing the money his father left him and a lot more besides, and knowingly ruining his backers. Having reached the highest position in the US, he is now in the process of repeating those achievements in the political sphere.

God save America.

I think Americans voted for Trump because he wasn’t a politician. A breath of fresh air, shooting from the hip, telling it like it is not wrapped up in diplomatic language. The electorate warmed to that and voted for him.

I did think quite honestly that he’d secure another 4 year term but I think the pandemic which is decimating the economy (MAGA) has blown his chances.

However Joe Biden is 78 years old (6 years older than Trump). That might put some punters off. His choice of running mate might swing things his way though.

It’s all up for grabs.

The man is a nutter. What's truly frightening is the number of idiots who voted him in!

Its terrifying that he is the most powerful man in the world. There are some interesting documentaries on his rise to power and the sort of man he is.
He was still elected and even now a substantial number of people apparently would vote for him.
Although recently he seems to be more openly losing the plot its interesting to remember his campaign to be elected. He appeared obnoxious but nothing seemed to touch him. I think it was personality politics. Theres been research about what is called the redneck contingent in USA and White Van Man in UK. Groups who are fed up of endless what they feel is political correctness ,who feel marginalised. Trump and Johnson represented something new,not the staid arguments of more seasoned politicians. I also have some quite wealthy friends in USA who are adamant Trump supporters. I think the pandemic has really highlighted the inadequacies of both leaders. You would imagine both would lose office at some stage in the future, but I wouldnt be surprised if they dont. To me it makes no sense that citizens of both countries would vote for a system that has caused them so much harm. Maybe they dont have faith in the alternatives. Maybe the ethos of survival of the fittest rules,there certainly seems a lack of compassion for the most vulnerable in society. The deaths of older people in care homes due to Covid has highlighted the awful conditions many people are living in. It's a system,with some exceptions,that is run for profit. Those that live and work in it are devalued. It appears it's been a world wide problem where there have been high rates of death from Covid. You would think there would be outrage at how we treat our most vulnerable members of society. Apart from a few exceptions the silence is deafening. Trump and his ilk may be abhorrent but maybe we need to look closely at a society that sanctions such leadership.

The real problem with Trump I feel is that he is not a person who can accept defeat. As America grows draws to the November election Trump will turn more and more to nationalism if he feels he may lose that election.

The above may involve further provocation of China or similar to North Korea so as to make it look as though they are threatening the region and through that American interests there, which could prove a very dangerous policy

There is also the increasing problem of should Trump lose the November election would he accept that defeat and vacate the White House. There are increasing indications that he may not go willingly but instead bring forward an unknown number of reasons why the election should be declared invalid.

Trump is obviously mentally unstable, but although his support has fallen he still has the backing of large numbers of "Red Neck Americans" who seemingly believe his every word and would willingly join him in not accepting electoral defeat.

That is a very worrying prospect for the United States and in that the rest of the world.

Makes you wonder how good democracy is when it can be distorted by anyone who so openly lies and is so obviously unfit for office. Reminds me of someone...

Unfortunately, he does have a lot of supporters- We're also in the grips of a pandemic- Many votes will be cast by mail- So while he can't postpone the election, he can delay the results by saying they aren't legitimate -- if he lost, especially by an almost too close to call margin- He could call for a recount like Gore vs Bush-

I have a feeling that some Democrats will vote for Biden because 4 more years of Trump frightens them- But the far left? I don't know that they will vote for him- If he chooses a running mate that both the frightened and left can support, then he might win-

I think the Republicans are "playing possum"- There are barely any Trump campaign signs up- Trump himself said he thinks nobody likes him- I honestly think it's all a Republican ploy- Sure, they might not like him much- If at all- But they will do anything to keep a Republican in office- No matter how "nasty" that Republican is-

I couldn’t stop wondering how he was going to get up from such a low chair without holding onto something. I wouldn’t be able to.

I can't watch all of that video, he terrifies me so much. Surely to God America can recognise how mad and dangerous he is by now and won't re elect him.

Pity I can’t ask my friend from Texas how he feels about Trump now. He kept insisting that Trump was misjudged because he was putting America first.
