What hope for Labour now?

trisher following the reports you have cited, I now firmly believe that what has been an excuse for a socialist party has finally now reached the end of the road.

To think that those employees working in the Labour Parties Central Office carried out what they did while their salaries were funded from the affiliation subscriptions of trade union members the vast majority of which were paid far less than those engaged in this unbelievable activity.

The time is now to write off this shambles of an organization and for the Labour movement as a whole to launch a new political wing from within the TUC or an alternative affiliated organisation.

It has made me so sad. I agree with you trisher I would also say that they have condemned so many people to poorer lives by working against a Labour election victory while taking their salaries from the very people they were working against.

I hope Grandad1948 that the unions will not abandon the rest of us members, a lot of us who are not union members want a left wing party in Government too.

Unless Keir Starmer takes a very firm line and expels and sacks those nasty little traitors, how can those of us who want a fairer society ever trust him.

We need a strong opposition party. The decline of the labour party has been in nobody's best interests. I would like to see the unions having more power and able to speak effectively for the people.
I hope they can rise again from the ashes.

I'm not absolutely clear as to who actually carried out the investigation that resulted in this leaked report. All I know is that it was an 'internal inquiry'. This doesn't fill me with confidence.

MaizieD are you saying that the information isn't true? It's very difficult to forge e-mails and messages.Especially such a large number and so consistently, as for the moving money well there will be a financial trail. So what doesn't "fill you with confidence"?

A lot of people don't trust Starmer to get to the bottom of things because of his involvement with the element of the party responsible.

In Scotland Kezia Dugdale was telling people to vote tory? She was the leader of the Labour party (branch office) in Scotland .I know many people who vote labour ,this is an area where a monkey in a red rosette would win so Kez's idea went down like a lead balloon.In the north of Scotland it did work with a return of 6 or 7 tories but in our traditionally Labour area they migrated to the SNP who are by far the most left leaning party in the country .
It was asif they didn't WANT to win an election ,now seeing this I believe that to be the case .

Trisher, what has come to light over the past few days would be that those of us who fully supported Corbyn and the Labour Party throughout the last four years have not just been fighting a highly efficient Conservative party election machine, but also the Labour Party election machine in their Central office.

As you state many feel that Starmer will not wish to enquire into all that has come to light quickly or thoroughly as that situation has brought forward much in the way of gain for himself.

However, he had very better wake up very quickly to the very real deep anger this report has brought out especially in the affiliated membership if he wishes to still have a party to lead in a few months time.
