Be it far from me to even comment on another country's way of governing itself and every system has its faults, but no system has a head of state that isn't backed up by enormous sums of money and influence, (corruption?!) The RF are no worse or better than anyone else, and the Queen herself is almost certainly not corrupt and is above politics so why change it?!

It's not about family members, it's about the person themselves! Which one of us can help how our family behaves, and which one of us would have lost our job because a family member fell foul of the law?! Nobody I suspect!

We can debate the benefits and pitfalls of a monarchy versus a republic till the cows come home and most people will still be firmly in one camp or the other. Personally I believe that the Queen has represented us well since she was catapulted into the job prematurely due to her father’s early death. She is now nearly 94 years old and I think it would have been better if she had retired when she was 65 or 70. Nonetheless she didn’t seek my advice. She made a promise and she intends to keep it. Normally that is seen as an admirable quality.
Of course the family has black sheep within it. Are all the members of your families lily white? But the black sheep aren’t the H of S. The Queen is. And she appears to have taken her duties seriously and done her best to represent Britain around the world and at home.
Now she is in her twilight years, she should be able to follow the same advice as all our other older citizens, in other words, to self isolate. She may well yet speak to the nation, we’re a bit behind the other countries in Europe with this situation. Let’s wait and see, we actually have more to worry about at the moment than this.

People keep harkening back to how the world was worse than this and how everybody just carried on. Well, when the queen was a princess she addressed the nation of children at that point and apparently gave them a lot of comfort. She could do the exact same now.
