I follow two people on Twitter, Sarah Brown and Margaret Hodge, no one else . If people read racist comments surely they choose to follow those people ?

What a truth! Racist remarks are racist what ever your colour!

It’s good to hear something good about Twitter for a change, but I’ll still steer clear. Someone else told me that Twitter has it’s good side once, I think it was growstuff, but not sure. She’s not on this thread anyway, I don’t think.
I enjoy twitter, especially Mr.Lumpy and Friends, all about badgers and foxes.
No one is compelled to follow racists, foul mouths etc.
Well said Tickingbird. I have looked at the article and it seems just the same as any article (of that type) written by the Daily Mail. They always try to shock their readers with scandalous headlines. I don't think it would have been any different if Harry's girlfriend had been white but from a trailer park. So racist it isn't.
I say article 'of that type' because in fairness I've seen some amazing articles in the online DM under health, science or travel.
That's cats not cars!
It all depends who you follow on Twitter. You don't have to follow political people or tittle tatlers. It's not fair to blame Twitter. I also like that you can just block people you don't want to hear from or read about.
I have a lovely time on Twitter reading about cars, dogs, otters, books and looking at lovely paintings etc.
Ther was no mention of colour ,how is it racist ? As for Twitter , we know from the anti semetic discussions we have had , Twitter has vile racist comments .
The question is, did Meghan come from that area or not? If she did, so what. If she didn’t, so what. It’s all overplayed.
Everything I hear about Twitter reinforces my view that it is a vile type of social media that I want nothing to do with, and as you say Gaga, that you do not have an account, neither do I and can think of nothing that would induce me to start an account. I think we should ignore the vile abuse that is directed through Twitter towards people of all ethnicities, genders, and professions. We need to look carefully at mainstream media to see if there’s racism.

tickingbird, twist it as you will.
When LF made his vile remarks he was reported in the media as twisting the words of Martin Luther King on his Twitter feed. So I looked. I don't HAVE a Twitter account. But what I saw...
Profanity after profanity. Huge disrespect to women and yes, racism.
And Anniebach and Chestnut, The Daily Heil posted 'straight outta Compton' about Meghan. 2nd of November, 2016. Do your own research.
Well I think too much fuss I kicked up about Meghan She is a fiesty independent woman earning her own living before she married Harry.
Kate knows where her bread is buttered so plays her part keeping in with the Royals.
Anyway just bought another book about Royals Title: Sacking the Monarch - Why Britain must become a republic 2010 10 years old now but still relevant
Grany: when you consider both Kate and Meghan's treatment in newspapers Kate came off more favourably with the similar things they did reported on
MM received a warm welcome from the press when she married Harry. There were no negative comments then. It was only later on when she started behaving like an extravagant diva that they started reporting in a negative way. At that time Kate was doing all the right things and was consequently being reported on favourably.
Of course people like trisher will interpret this as racism as they always do. As I've said before, it's all down to her behaviour, not her race.
I think MM was subject to racism by the press because when you consider both Kate and Meghan's treatment in newspapers Kate came off more favourably with the similar things they did reported on. And that's a reason why Harry complained about racism and had every reason to complain.
Anyway I am not bothered by the Royals, just wish we didn't have a monarchy
trisher thread title - Lawrence Fox , reason ? He said
‘Not racist, she said ‘you are a white man ‘, this was racist ,
if he had said ‘you are a black woman ‘ then racist, but he didn’t say that.
Your dislike of him is simply because he comes from a middle class family and went to a public school.
Ah I see one incident by one woman is made of prime importance whilst the MSM racism is dismissed. I shouldn't be surprised.
That indeed did happen Pantglass, I watched it too. It was disgraceful.
Many white people who are married to black people suffer racism Trisher, particularly in the past. Meghan’s mother apparently said she (a clearly black lady) was often assumed to be Meghan’s nanny (not as in grandmother, but as paid help) when she was pushing her apparently white baby in her pram. They lived till Meghan was two years old in a wealthy area of LA, because at that time Meghan’s parents were still married. Meghan’s father was able to provide a comfortable life for his wife and child.
Yup trisher he was maligned by Rachel Boyle because he was white.....
Sorry Pantglas2 did someone malign LF because he was white? I thought we were discussing his comments on racism about MM which he insisted were not racism. Personally I can't stand him because he's an over entitled prat with little talent but good connections, couldn't care less what colour or race he is.
According to your last sentences trisher he (LF) did, he was and it is.
Chestnut never heard of sarcasm. There was no other reason for attributing MM's background as being from Crompton than to downgrafe and ridicule her. It is racist to assume that there are no black people living in affluent areas of the USA. But that was exactly what MSM intended to do. As for Meghan's father never experiencing racism he's white. And I think many children don't tell their parents things they experience growing up. But this is about MSM in this country ane the racism exhibited which some said wasn't here at all andnow they are debating if it was racism or not. I beleive earlier in the thread someone said if you felt something was racist and you. were being targeted because of your ethnic origins it was racism. Well she did, she was and it is.
I think that is the first time I saw him when he was in Africa and he was looking beautiful Maddyone. He has probably changed so much already and there have been no further photos of him.
I have not visited the U.S.A. but it would not surprise me that it is racist there, I have also watched those videos that Meghans father has shown and she looks happy in all of them.
Whatever happened to their relationship only they really know .
It seems that Archie may grow up far from the public eye and the photos of him will be few and far between if any.
Rather sad in some ways.
And while we're at it trisher your complaint about people using the term 'race card' is absolute nonsense. You know perfectly well what they mean by that, and it has nothing to do with the original meaning. The meaning of many words have changed over time. Would you complain if someone used the word 'gay' when they mean homosexual?
