GG Yes, I agree the Euro hit prices in Spain. My DS’s Spanish in- laws said much of the price rises were led by the sudden releasing of cash in pesetas which had been stashed as it was untaxed cash etc. which could not go through the banks.
Also the Euro was never part of the equation for the U.K.

I first lived and worked in Spain in 1982 four years before they joined the EU.

When they adopted the Euro the price increases hit the poorest and the elderly. Prices were “rounded up” far more than in other countries.

(We were in Austria the night they went over to the Euro and if anything they rounded a lot of consumables down)

It is being reported that if there is a general election, Farage will stand against.........................

As to the levels of bureaucracy in Spain, it's been an aggravation for many years. It gets Spaniards down too, but it's been that way for a very long time. They make a joke of it.

Spain, Portugal and Greece aren't going to leave the EU as a result of Brexit.

Greece should never have been allowed to join the EU and the Eurozone anyway. It had to fiddle its book to be allowed to join and, quite frankly, should have sorted out its tax system first. I'm afraid the chickens came home to roost.

Petra we have close links to the Greek side of Cyprus and the locals cannot get work in the tourist hotel’s as the Eastern European’s work for less. Free movement hasn’t benefited Greece

As GG13 pointed out: the increase in prices. It was very noticeable in Spain/Portugal/ and Greece. I found Greece to be the highest of those 3.

Of course there is a margin of error and it depends how the polls were conducted, but there have been enough of them to show without any shadow of a doubt that the general picture is correct.

Well in our family 5 AC and partners voted leave 4 have degrees, 9 have A levels or equivalent, 1 speaks 3 languages fluently, 1 speaks 2 fluently and 2 can get by in 2 languages other than English.

Eldest has lived and worked worldwide.

One started their schooling in a Country in Europe that at the time was not a member of the EU.

I have lived and worked in Europe, and can get by in 2 European languages other than English.

We all voted leave, as did Mr. Gravy.
