It's beyond me why people are talking in bated breath about that nonentity called Nicholas Soames simply because he had an illustrious grandfather. Surely it's the person themselves that should be judged, not the family they come from. In this particular case this grandson is a shadow of his forebear, a pompous self opinionated man, who has made absolutely no impact on the country, has made never made a speech of any worth, and owes his present unimportant presence in the H of C wholly and soley on his family name! Grandson of W.S. C? So what!!!!?

I find it difficult to vote for Johnson as it is. Farage is a right wing racist who cares for nothing but enriching himself. I could not vote for any party who convenes a pact with this man. I would think that many Conservative voters would feel the same. But then I voted remain and maybe leavers would support a pact in order to get a no deal Brexit.

Day 6.. quite right, nothing 'Far' Right about wanting to leave the EU. Liberals like to use that to threaten us with. It doesn't work BTW.

Farage is a revelation and a powerful force for good. He is not 'Far' anything. His task for 27 years has been to persuade people not to stay in the increasingly undemocratic and overly powerful EU. I've met Nigel Farage and he is far more upfront and honest than almost any other politician I can think of, bar a handful, Jonny Mercer, JRM, Davies, Bill Cash, IDS, John Redwood, Francois and Steve Baker., and a handful of others, like Kate Hoey, a delightful lady who is OLD Labour and much loved.

I've attended 2 meetings so far where The Brexit Party held Rallies and Conferences. Every one had an audience of 1000's. At least half attending were Labour voters who were ashamed to call Corbyn their Leader.

Farage does not wish to be PM. He would refuse if offered. He would most like put up Richard Tice for the position. His only wish is to get this country out of the EU.

His Party is sweeping through the country, as, unlike on here, the people who attend and join and will vote for TBP are Leavers. My friend's husband is now standing locally as a candidate. Those candidates already chosen are of superior moral stance and are extremely angry at the manner in which for 3 long years our winning vote has been ignored, fought over and the disillusionment with Mrs May and those in power has increased exponentially. Farage is someone to be reckoned with, like it or not and if he and Johnson DO join forces they will be unstoppable. It's on the cards and personally I cannot wait!

BTW...can anyone honestly put their hands up on here and say they have read The Lisbon Treaty? Suggesting it might be a rather good idea if you did.

The Lisbon Treaty is a long and involved document, signed without the public’s knowledge or consent. There are many links to it. It would take far too long to write it all on here, so suggest look for a summary. It’s pretty vital everyone does this.

Rory Stewart is a bit of a bumbler. He hasn’t really come up with any improvements on the policies of remainers, he simply regurgitates all the old stuff and I don’t find him appealing or convincing.

WW2..... certainly, but not hijacking this thread. A new one I think, but not this weekend as family here. I will discuss the EU army which 3 years ago was raising its head and was vigorously denied by those in the EU parliament. It is now a well known fact it exists, is 2/3rds complete, and Merkel, Macron and Co., have been voicing their approval. Lost quite a lot of trust there wouldn’t you think ?

The media are widely reporting that one in three British manufacturing companies are now in the process of relocating to European Union member state countries, or in advanced planning stages of the same.

The finance industry is also in the same process with the staggering amount of eight hundred Billion pound being moved at the time of the last fiscal year-end.

Further to the above seventy five billion has been moved by the insurance industry in the last few weeks with more insurance finance to follow.

Perhaps the greatest threat to Britain is where these large manufacturing companies relocate their suppliers are also following to maintain their links to these customers and ensure their own commercial survival.

Many hundreds of thousands of jobs are tied up in the United Kingdoms manufacturing industries and in the supply to those companies.

The tax take from the finance industry to the British government will be greatly reduced impacting on the nations ability to fund such things as education, welfare and state pensions.

However, not one leading brexiteer ever comments on this ever-growing situation, and leave supporters on forums such as this also refuse to make any remark. Instead, they continue to believe in some Brexit utopia despite all the mounting evidence. They stay with fingers in ears and heads in the sand.

I think where the confusion lies is that the 28states agreed to form a defence and security initiative which encourages cooperation rather like nato. So what you actually have are independent states cooperating in defence and security. In fact 68% of Europeans thought closer cooperation sensible and desirable.

I do know that the various armies, including the U.K. held joint manoeuvres etc. I have no problem with that whatsoever as it has always happened with friendly states doing just that on a regular basis.
NATO is a prime example, with troops serving under the NATO flag, with the NATO uniform etc. Works well.

Errrmmm! I actually remember the Lisbon Treaty. I can't have been the only one! It was hardly secret.

However, I confess I haven't read it in full. As you obviously have, I thought you could save me a bit of time and give me a quick resume. Any chance?

Any idea where the EU Army is stationed? I don't think any of the EU leaders have actually heard of it, which could be a bit of a problem if it needs to be mobilised.
