If they want to ' do something ' then they could try living as us mere mortals have to live . I could only afford 2 children ' max ' so we stopped at 2, if I want to go on holiday I have to save up and stick to a budget, if I need a large item for the house ( white goods sofa etc) I have to save up, I save up for Christmas , the list is endless. I can't just buy whatever I want, I have never bought designer clothes costing thousands for each article and probably made in a sweatshop in a developing country.I object to their way of life which is ' do as I say, not as I do'. I object to people who live lives of wealth and privilege telling me things that I already know, and that includes Hollywood actors and celebrities. I understand that we can't continue to treat the earth the way we do; I've known that for ages. If they care for the environment then they should stop spending huge sums of money on refurbishing houses at a cost of millions and stop the conspicuous spending, including the air travel. That should save the earth's resources.

They could use their positions to set up really worthwhile things....whatever they are interested in.

Lessismore -you are right of course. William and Kate do seem to manage the pressures in their lives well. They were the subject of all kinds on unpleasant comments during the earlier part of their lives. I know I'm inclined to go a bit analytical but - Katherine Middleton may have been brought up by wealthy, successful parents, gone to 'good ' schools etc but it's hard to avoid the impression she had a more stable, emotionally warm upbringing than William did. She's brought something very positive into his life, as seen by the influence her parents seem to have.
Meghan Markle didn't have the same grounding childhood as her sister in law. Harry was at an even more vulnerable age than William when their mother died. They're still finding their way and possibly getting a bit lost at times. Hands up anyone here who hasn't made mistakes?

Me, I have never made any ever, haha. The Middletons seem to have mastered the art of keeping themselves discretely in the background. I agree they seem to be wealthy and successful but they will have faced challenges along the way.

Meghan has had a very different upbringing but she joins " the Firm" and should be aware of the responsibility that brings.

I sometimes think for all of them the security must be mind boggling.

Harry has his Sentabali Charity in Africa along with the Mental Health Charity in the U.K..

He was traumatised by the death if his Mother, he has seen his Father ripped apart by MSM, and has by now probably seen the tv interviews both his parents gave to tv stations laying out their marriage for all to see.

I feel he is a very troubled man looking for his way in life and I hope totally in love with his wife, I will not join in with the MSM in condemning his every move.

merlotgran, you may think that, I don't.
I look at the large circle of 30 somethings we've known since they were babies. Some of them are more grounded and sensible than others. I just don't see MM and Harry as very bad people.

I used to like Harry, when he was younger and in the forces, and going out to Afghanistan, yes, I Iiked him. And when he met Meghan I was happy for him. We all remember him as a little boy walking behind his mother’s coffin, such a sad sight. But now he seems so changed, and it must be Meghan who has changed him. At first I ignored all the bad press she got, thinking oh it’s just the press again, but then I started to think, hang on, they’ve got a point. I mean, who abandons their father, and refuses to visit him or allow him to even meet his grandchild. The same father who took over all Meghan’s care when her mother couldn’t keep her any longer, and paid for expensive schools for her right from nursery education. The same father who made a silly mistake over the photos, but has repeatedly declared his love for her. How could she do that, whilst simultaneously declaring her empathy and dedication to the poor, the mentally ill etc. What kind of person is this? She has changed Harry, and not for the better. She’s happy to take a private flight to Nice and accepts the use of a mega rich man’s villa, but she denies her father to even meet his new grandchild. Not nice in my opinion.

Sorry Iam that is the daftest comment I have heard about children who have suffered the death of a parent.

You speak often of your work with troubled children , I speak
as a mother of two children whose father died when they were children and was with them 24 hours a day. I have spoken to other mothers who experienced the same.

As for a woman aged 38 and a man aged 34 still finding their way !

I really don't mind if H&M fly off to Africa to check on Sentabali, his presence should bring in publicity and money. I don't mind if they go business/first class, but on a scheduled flight which was going anyway.
I'm happy that he has taken over the Queen's Commonwealth Canopy (brilliant idea) but they need to have some awareness that some of their other actions may attract adverse publicity when it involves a "Do as I say and not as I do" element.

They have many family members to follow in finding their way , they are junior members of a ‘firm’, if they don’t like the way the ‘firm’ works then find another job.

I agree with almost everyone on this thread. Iam64, I think you’re right, I don’t think Harry is intentionally ‘bad’ and maybe Meghan isn’t, but despite some fairly unlikeable family members, I do feel that she has treated her father with utter contempt. When I remember my lovely old dad, it just makes me think ‘how on earth can she behave like that?’
And I agree with Loislovesstewie, of course in our younger days we had to economise, most people did then. And of course rich people have always had it easier, but the royal family have to appear to be non controversial, the Queen has managed it for years, and I think W+C will manage it too. Thankfully Meghan will never be queen, because I don’t think she could command the respect.

I have just been watching a programme about the Russian revolution, namely about the aristocratic ( and haves) fleeing Russia and living in Istanbul in Turkey.
There were thousands of titled people who had to find jobs working in bakeries and cleaning instead of living off the work of the poor.
Prince Charles didn’t get ‘O’ level Maths so if they were all deposed I wonder what job he would be reduced to. I don’t think Andrew is all that bright either, so he could maybe be a post man. We shouldn’t have a system based upon who your Dad was, it’s ridiculous.

I disagree, just because I criticise some members of the RF does not mean I think having HM as Head of State is wrong, nor her immediate heirs to follow on.
