and without having to look very hard there are several newspaper reports of royal security entourages, one of the most recent was when an elderly woman was critically injured by one of W&K's security outriders !

Gillybob I don't know about London but when the royals are staying in this area of Scotland security is minimal. They travel in a Range Rover or an ordinary people carrier van like my nephew has for his four children. I'm sure they're beefed up vehicles but there are no masses of security. They even travel to Scotland on ordinary scheduled flights - I know because I've been on the same flights with some of them.

I cannot believe that an allegedly serious politician should be having a go at the royal family when there are so many more important issues facing this country, many of them caused by him.

I had no memory of this Annie considering it was in 1974 ( I was 12) . Things have changed massively since then . Reading the reports the would be abductor suffered from mental illness and would have never succeeded .
Surely the royals are at far more risk when they are walking around and flitting from country to country than they are in their heavily armoured cars with their huge security entourage?

as an aside, I hope many of you have signed the petition requesting that Farage's LBC show be stopped- as it gives the Leader of a Party an awful lot of unfair airtime to push for his parties policies.
