Isn't it marvellous that Prince Harry has sought to share his thoughts on climate change, by giving a "barefoot speech" No me neither in front of a load of grandstanding c'lebs worthy and notable high profile people in Sicily. As a lesser mortal I'm so grateful that these up their own backside individuals, amazingly aware and magnanimous folk are there to give us guidance on looking after our planet. I'm just wondering about the 114 private jets parked up on a runway somewhere in though Sicily Oh never mind minor detail!
I think it's good that Harry has said they will have no more than two children. He's walking the walk there at least. Let's hope he's an example to others.
.............hope he didn't have any verrucas, or ingrowing toenails NASTY! as POTUS is frequently heard to declare!.......or rough skin on his heels, if you do have the latter Harry, CCS cream from Boots, really good I can vouch for it, run it past Meghan first though
Please don't give up Beckett. It was obvious that the thread would highlight the sheer hypocrisy of all of these "celebs" traveling in their super yachts and private jets to a climate change conference. You couldn't make it up.
Will someone please, please explain to moi, what a "barefoot speech" is I assume he wasn't doing a Sandy Shaw, if anyone remembers her, days when little old us actually won the European Song Contest, instead of coming last sigh! Anyway, I digress, if he was indeed bare foot, well nil points to that Harry! I suppose it could be said barefoot ties in nicely with carbon footprint, but somehow I don't think I'm on the right track with that
I give up - I was trying to make the point that I thought this was a thread about climate change, but go ahead and vent your fury at him and his wife if that is what makes you happy.
Beckett This is the first time I have commented on Megan and Harry. But one subject that I'm very interested in, is, climate change. The sheer hypocrisy stinks, not only that but it shows how stupid and ill educated he is to not see that this 'jolly' is soooo wrong.
If the Queen doesn't step in soon to put a stop to their self serving behaviour the recent complaints will gain momentum and if this turns into a Harry and Meghan bashing thread so what?
They're doing a great deal of harm to the monarchy.
Nice little jolly for the security detail we're paying for though.
Beckett, it wasn't my intention to make it another "Harry and Meghan bashing thread" I don't go on the threads that pertain to them, I'm ambivalent about them both really, I don't have anti monarchy feelings, or deeply pro ones for that matter. I mentioned Harry because he addressed what seems to be a fatuous gathering to my mind.
Jangran I take your point about farmers in Africa not being able to afford labour and depending on family members.
This is the couple who just love Africa. More than 70 per cent of the world’s poor live in rural areas, with most families depending on labour-intensive agriculture to survive. In these communities, there can be a cultural expectation to have big families to combat their need for extra labour. Usually, farmers who live off their harvest can’t afford to pay extra labourers and can only depend on themselves and their children. For them, a large family might be the only assurance for survival.
.........or maybe he'd just like to be quiet and stop lecturing keep his thoughts to himself. Enigmatic people, now they are the interesting ones! In the words of Kate Moss "Never explain and never complain"
