People who have been bitterly complaining about non-elected bureaucrats in Brussels- whom they had the right, as ever before, to vote for yesterday ... are now happy to see the second un-elected PM in charge- who will throw us at the mercy of totally unelected bureautcrats in Geneva- and at the mercy of the whims, tariffs and quotas from 164 countries- without us having a say- the only country in the world to be in that disastrous position.

Beggars belief.

Once again, we do not elect a Prime Minister, we elect a Party, and the Leader of that Party, (elected by its members, before and/or after an election) becomes Prime Minister.

I hope it’s not Boris! I think he would be good when times are good but at this point you need someone steady clear and competent.

One thing for sure the government will move even more to the right, because the only leader acceptable to the Tory membership will be a hard right politician.

I have lived in Oxfordshire/Berkshire all my life, and I agree we are probably out of touch with the way some people in other areas of the country have to live. Not sure what we can do about it though, apart from watching Panorama and the like.

The Today programme this morning seemed to be taking it for granted it will be Boris. Should be interesting. Quite fun really.

Well thems the rules like it or not and I don’t I think anyone resigning a seat, as in change UK, there should be a bi election and for a resigning MP I think a GE.

That’s why Gordon Brown was never seen to be legitimate.

I think Theresa May has had an impossible task, and like many women has tried to appease and placate too many people, both here and in Europe. My heart went out to her making I’m sure a very difficult and heartfelt speech with the world and his wife listening. I bet she can’t wait to lock the door to number 10 and disappear.

No experts are negotiators who do this for a living. We should have used trained negotiators, business leaders and proper advisors not left it to civil servants and MPs.

Seeing this doesn’t make me an expert but it makes me sensible.

One thing for sure we will have yet another unelected Prime Minister.

mycat Brussels are actively planning for no deal.

No of course they don’t want no deal, no one wants no deal, but if we get a hard right PM as is very likely then the risk of no deal rises considerably.

Brussels find Johnson’s style intolerable as he has a reputation as a liar and unpredictability. They therefore are seriously considering refusing any further extension and assuming a crash out.

Unbelievable. That will go down in history as piece of rank hypocrisy as great as Thatcher's prayer when she stood on the steps of Number 10 for the first time.

Anyway, bring it on now. A new P.M. (Brexiteer) and a huge Cabinet reshuffle. At least we have Farage to thank for shaking the foundations.

And the EU go to the elections this weekend. They know now that May is history, which should throw up quite a few surprises. I’m surprised to be honest this announcement wasn’t held of until Monday!
