I can only repeat that I would rather have them back here, living next to me and under the eye of British security than heaven knows where ramping up their terrorism and being more and more cut off from wider society.
I consider SB to be deeply traumatised and mentally ill. I think.with proper medical treatment she could and will be deradicalised and, even after serving a prison sentence, will have ample opportunity to become a useful memeber of our wider society.
As I keep saying, it is not a question of what we want, but what is in our best interest. I think an act of compassion now, allowing her back but insisting she faces criminal prosecution, will do more for both our society and deradicalisation than anything else.
