Is today’s Brexit the same as we voted for in 2016.

The troops have been used before on our streets, rubbish collectors strikes, firefighters strikes.

If only the remain media could stop scaremongering, along with remain politicians.

We had the "once in a lifetime" vote, it's time to unite and get on with leaving the EU.

As usual when the "real questions" are asked we have leave supporters "dodging" those questions as has been the case with the Irish border threads. Therefore, I will repeat the question I asked of leave voters earlier in this thread. That question begins here:-

A large percentage of leave supporters seem to state that in casting their vote they knew precisely what they were voting for. However, yesterday (11/11/18) the defence minister Tobias Ellwood admitted on Sky News that plans are well advanced to deploy the armed forces into the ports and other critical areas in the event of a no deal Brexit.

Therefore, I would ask those on the forum who have stated they voted leave, did they in casting that vote have knowledge of and accept the possibility of troops having to be deployed into the ports and streets of Britain on Brexit?

All the serving members of the armed forces that I know voted REMAIN.

All the serving members of the armed forces that I know and have come in contact with are leave supporters. They definitely do not want to part of an European Army.

Our family business does sell imported goods, and as I have stated on this forum frequently, our suppliers are not worried in the least about continuing selling to the UK. I might add that they are predominantly German manufacturers.

What are the other critical areas?

NfkDumpling, I believe the government in considering the armed forces being deployed into the ports and other critical areas on a no deal Brexit would be to preserve public order in the case of severe and prolonged disruption.

In that, we have the possibility of British troops confronting other British subjects.

I don't think that France will declare war. Why should they bother with the laughing stock of Europe?

It would be a very sad state of affairs if our troops should have to be mobilised to forestall the self-inflicted damage to our country that any kind of brexit - not just a "no-deal brexit" could inflict on our country.

They used troops many years ago to sort out the bin men’s strike. Troops are good at all sorts of things.

Are you saying you think the army will be there to stop the refugee jungle forming at Ashford? Or that France will declare war?

I must admit that I do not have personal experience of being an importer, exporter or haulage professional, taking goods through the Dover- Calais route.

NfkDumpling, as the defence minister stated in the link, "the government have to plan for every single scenario". I believe that statement indicates exactly what is being considered by the Cabinet and defence chiefs in regard to what may be required.

I was for the EEC, not for the United States of Europe, a European Army or being governed by France & Germany.

The EU as it stands is in serious danger of falling apart.

Personally, I strongly believe we’re deliberately deceived. We should have been asked to vote on true factual information, which we now know we were NOT given.
There ate those of us who have an inquisitive nature and take on information and knowledge through experience, research, reflection and often challenge perceived norms to ensure the validity of the information,
There are those of us who accept information disseminated as truth without challenge and then claim they were lied to when the information does not conform to their personal view.
