Do you give no thought the word ' mithering ' has followed from your own use of the word in your OP and therefore perfectly acceptable for others that follow to use the word of your choice ' mithering ' .?

The English Language tests for nursing only apply to those applying to be registered. It does not apply to those already in post. So it does not explain why nurses from the EU (and other countries) are leaving in greater numbers than usual.

From the Royal College of Midwives

The latest figures from the NMC show that the number of EU midwives and nurses leaving the register has increased by 29%.

Between April 2017 and March 2018 3964 people from the EU left the NMC register.

Over the same period, only 805 EU midwives and nurses joined the register compared with 6382 the year before – a drop of 87%.

At the end of March 2018 there were 690,278 midwives and nurses on the NMC register – 495 fewer than at the end of March 2017.

NMC chief executive and registrar Jackie Smith said: ‘The number of people from the EU leaving our register remains a major concern, despite reassuring comments from senior members of government and nurse leaders. While the picture for UK trained nurses and midwives appears to be stabilising.

We asked people why they were leaving and for the small number of EU nurses and midwives who responded it’s clear that Brexit is playing a part, while retirement and staffing levels are clear factors in the decision of UK nurses and midwives to leave the profession.

Just out of curiosity Jura did you have a vote?

Perhaps, and in fact for sure, those who voted for Brexit were not fully aware of such consequences. Not surprisingly, as no information was given.

But now, we do know - and we should fight for a second vote, and people should vote with the facts.

Or are you like Johnson Senior, and say as he did today, that the Irish and the Unionists can start shooting each other again- if they so wish- and we should ignore it.

We are talking here about the availability of drugs and isotopes for cancer treatment Smileless.

It is not my 'hatred of Brexit' - it is the awareness that it will cause very serious issues- and that the above is one of them.

Which is why we should fight to ensure it does not. Putting your head in the sand and ignoring the warnings of medical and pharmaceutical experts- and refusing to even read them- is NOT going to help. And yes, my reaction, and I have apologised already, didn't help the cause. I reacted very strongly, in the context of cancer and other drug treatment- to comments that it was 'mithering' and that I should 'chill'. In the context of the above, it certainly was completely callous and vile.

And now, comments that those concerned should 'be treated for the condition' even more so.

It seems to me like using people with cancer (including children) to score points against Brexiteers.

It's not the message, it is the way in which it has been presented which is the problem.

That post was in response to some saying I should 'chill' and 'stop mithering' - and yes, it made me see red as it is so unkind, uncough and vile.

Totally different- it is the FACT, that cancer treatment will be seriously affected by a no deal- and it is absolutely tragic, and everything must be done to try and avoid this.

Ignoring the facts won't let them go away. I have loved ones suffering from cancer - and it is devastating to even think of it - I can assure you I am VERY aware.

Great speech today from John Major. You can hardly call him an inexperienced leftie extremist in need of 'treatment for his condition':

You have no idea how many individuals and their families, have been suffering from real anxiety about their future due to BRexit, in the UK, British or non British, and all over the EU. Anxiety which has led to illness and yes, real depression.
