I’m not sure that is correct primrose we know that the unrepresentative Board of Jewish Deputies overtly support the Tory party.

Arkush their chairman, was one of the first to support and congratulate Trump and Actively supports Netanyahu.
The Board has received severe criticism for its stance from many Jewish groups and certainly does not represent the majority of Jews.

Yes and the Conservative Bow Group is all elected and look at the views they put forward and the right wing extremist factions they invite to their functions.

I see the Daily Mail all over their front page today "slag off" totally the Jewish group that Corbyn had the social evening with.

I have just been having a look to see who they are and they would seem to be a fair representative of the Jewish community, democratically elected.

However, if Corbyn prefers to meet with a fringe group with views more in keeping with his own, then that is up to him.

The Representative from the British Board of Deputies seemed to believe that they and only they represent the Jewish community in Britain and nobody has any views different to them.

Mind you he never stopped talking long enough for anyone to get in any different views (LOL)

Well, I've heard of them, of course, but not to the extent of knowing who they all are or studied them in any great depth.

Very much so Whitewave. I would not expect Jeremy Corbyn to go to a social function with the Conservative Bow Group, so why should anyone expect him to attend a social function with any right wing group.

After all, if it is a social event convivial conversation is required. All agree???

Having seen a representative of the British Board of deputies interviewed on Sky News last night, it very quickly became obvious just how right wing they are.

I would dare to suggest that they are so far up Theriesa Mays backside her Adams Apple could well be one of their heads.

So, why would Jeremy Corbyn wish to meet them, it would not make for much of a social evening as he had with the group from his constituency.

Spot on Primrose. I thought the same. He is busy back-pedalling and creating smoke screens in order to bury his part in the Labour fiasco. Corbyn fools no one.

Corbyn only seems to engage with Jewish groups which attack Jews who criticise his leadership, such as Jewish Voice for Labour and Jewdas. (Jewdas was set up by someone who's now on the JVL committee, so there's overlap there) He has real problems talking to Jewish organisations which criticise him. All the large Jewish donors to the LP have now left, I believe.
