On GN Grandad we have a policy of no really personal attacks on other posters,but politicians are fair game.
You will find just the same on any thread that enjoys Tory bashing.
Simply because you may enjoy the prospect of a Corbyn and McDonnell led government doesn’t mean that anyone else has to ( although, as you have seen on here, some do and some don’t.)
It certainly isn’t just Corbyn the man that I and others
object to, but what his far left policies would lead to.
McDonnell never likes to give figures, but has already said he would borrow massively.
If far left policies are implemented because of ideology, you have seen what this leads to in Venezuela.
We are not that country ( to start with) but many fear what harm could be done post Brexit to our economy with him at the helm.
Of course, if the electorate vote that way, then they do, but where you and others may rejoice, many do not!

GracesGran, the Momentum questions are rather too lengthy to reproduce here. They cover a wide range of issues from Disability representation, Charter of members' rights, Code of Ethics, CLP governance, Recruitment, and parliamentary selection. Although Lansman has previously talked about deselection, Momentum proposals are about a democratic selection process. I doubt that any sitting MP who has the support of their CLP, members & affiliates would have much to worry about if these proposals were to become Labour Party rules

Those who will rejoice?
The homeless; students; those on zero hours contracts; those on minimum wage; those on hospital waiting lists; those EU citizens working here who do not know if they will be able to keep their jobs; CBI; EU; housebuilders; car companies.

Students really thought that if Corbyn got in then there would be no or little tuition fees.
So much was promised to them which would never have happened.
Gentler, kinder politics!!

bmacca yes that is right. Momentum has been holding these meetings all over the country for weeks now and the outcome will mean that labour members will have real input to labour policy.

It is the same week after week

Jeremy Corbyn said he would abolish tuition fees for students going forward. He said he would ‘look at’ ways of reducing or ameliorating student debt for existing students and graduates. Why is that so hard to understand? And since the Labour Party did not win the general election, I don’t see how he can be said to have lied or gone back on his word.

Thank bmacca. It helps me get a flavour of what Momentum are interested in.

There isn’t much else to ask about nightowl except Corbyn. There’s nothing positive to argue about the Tory government or Brexit so this is all that is left and the same stuff gets regurgitated time and time again.

Some of the ridiculous reporting in the MSM is helping Momentum recruitment, whitewave, which is probably not what they intended! It's interesting that whilst Lansman is respected by many, he is not particularly well-liked. Most Labour people I've spoken to this week would support Jennie Murray for General Secretary.

I get the impression that even Lansman will vote for her.

If you wish to see how ideological thinking can seriously damage a country just look to the conservatives idol Maggie Thatcher. I believe almost all the most serious problems this country has now can be laid at her goverments door, such as the housing crisis, low wages, the gig economy, social mobility to name but a few.

The polices expanded by Jeremy Corbyn would look to redress many of the above problems that were caused by her government
