It's actually quite a relief to read that article Jen. Sometimes you wonder if anyone else but a few can see that we are being ruled by a totally mad minority or if, as it seems, the whole country has yet again been fooled by an Emperor's new clothes scenario.

So just how do we differ from the other human beings who happen to live in Germany Lemons?

I've just read about someone who has moved to Germany; when asked by someone in a supermarket where they were from they replied they were a foreigner from Britain, but the reply was, you're not a foreigner, you're European'. Can't imagine anyone saying that in this country .

One of the issues in Germany was that the everyday German could not believe where things could go either. That also led to the shutting down of those that spoke against the "dream" Hitler had offered all parts of the electorate except those he knew he had already lost. Shades of those who voted for the "dream" of Brexit and then wanted to close down discussion from those who see the dangers of it.

Why do you think we are such a superior group of people, in comparison to the Germans, that we could never behave as they did Lemons?

My German friend who has lived in the UK for more than twenty-five years, working, paying taxes and contributing in many other ways, and was not allowed to vote in the EU referendum, has now decided to leave this country.

During the referendum campaign and since she has been several times subjected to racist abuse, something which had never happened in all the years she's lived here.

She is not old enough to remember the nazis, but her parents and grandparents were and she no longer feels comfortable in the UK.

Who said that we were superior?
There are cultural differences and national differences though, as with all countries.
Why does anybody think that we are heading for the sort of situation that Germany did in the 30’s? Where is the Hitler figure in the UK?
When did Conservative politicians become ‘Fascists’ in anybody's mind?
This is all just a case of allowing hysteria to build up.
The only charge of anti-semitism actually is in the Labour Party,( since so many are keen to talk about Hitlers Germany.)
All the statements about Fascism ( suppression of the media,
Hatred of intellectuals etc etc ) can equally be applied to Communism.Any extreme, in other words.

The difference between your posts lemon and most of the others is that yours are never based on evidence and tend to be platitudes.

The evidence of a lurch to the hard right is growing. The majority of Tories would certainly not be classed under this hard right movement, and are horrified by what they are seeing, but a significant number, who seem to have undue influence given their numbers are undoubtedly and worryingly following this hard right agenda. They are surrounded by a number of known Nazi sympathisers and white supremacists as well as being supported by facist groups in the U.K. who clearly recognise this hard rights group world view.

Not to be alarmed by this growing movement is folly indeed
