I imagine you feel equal sympathy for those who had the party changed from under them by Annie and the Blairites too Primrose. Or is what's sauce for the goose something we should cry about when it affects the gander?

I’m attending a meeting in a few weeks time. It has been called by the LP in our town who are very split. Our MP is very pro-Corbyn and the traditionalists ( of which I was once one) are very worried about Momentum who seem to be casting off anyone who disagrees with the great one. Should be interesting .

It will be interesting gillybob. I have my suspicions that the great one is not really JC at all.

It is very difficult Primrose , one which many long standing members are facing, I am torn between the fact there are still good labour MP's who care for the party and those who want to kill the party and form a communist party.

Jon Lansman has said there is no place for George Galloway in the LP. Perhaps there will be a bun fight over that too!

And there is! George Galloway has instructed solicitors to sue Lansman for defamation and is going to use Corbyn as a witness. I'm sure Corbyn will condemn and support all sides but I'm stocking up on popcorn!

The leader of Haringey has quit. It's a shame, she was eloquent, measured and was focused on solving problems.

I hope the people who were going to be rehoused in better accommodation appreciate they are living in dreadful conditions now for the benefit of Lansman. People who think Momentum and Corbyn will benefit the poor or the working class are totally deluded.

But like GracesGranMK2 says, it was also a difficult decision for those of us who didn't like the way that the party changed under New Labour. Our views should not be dismissed as "Corbynistas" or similar taunts.
There is not one right way here, just different opinions.

! Unbelievable. It is the councils job to rehouse them. Nothing but nothing should have stopped them doing that. Talk about using those who have suffered from this dreadful event for political purposes. I am quite disgusted by this comment.

Primrose, I didn't know that about Lansman and Galloway, never thought I would agree with Lansman ? Corbyn as witness ? Hope there is a glass door available, if asked a question he can squeal, run, hide . Who will he support, his very close Comrade or his boss !

Why do you think that is the argument? Oh, of course, it's because you don't believe in putting a view of politics forward only attacking one man. On your basis Annie, if Corbyn were to win three elections you would then start supporting him. At least some people are unhappy because they don't agree with the current LP political position - I think we can all understand that but I cannot understand your vilification campaign of one man as being anything to do with what your politics might be.

The electorate rejected New Labour in 2010 Annie. You have no evidence whatsoever that your version of the LP would win an election now.

And you nightowl have no evidence that the far left can win the next election . All I have done is state facts, the far left gave us the wilderness years, the centre left gave us three elections . perhaps the far left will gain votes in middle England , that is for the future

The thing is, was the centre left LP that different from the Conservatives? surely it's more important to have a party representing a desire for social justice than a middle-of-the-road let's-not-rock-the-boat party..

I have to agree humpty. Blair appealed to many a conservative - conservative in all but name - and at least didn't have to fight with the minority on the far right who are controlling the current government.

Surely not better to have a centre left labour government who gains votes from the tories and the .libs than a far left party who gives votes to the tories and the .Libs ?

If you think the last labour government was the same as the tories best you look up what the country gained under that government and compare it with the Thatcher government

I don't think the Gordon Brown government (the last labour government) were the same as the Tories AB. I am sorry he did not have the personality we seem to demand these days.

This really annoyed me today:

Labour should oppose Brexit because it is bad for the UK, and bad for the majority of their members...

Annie certainly not suggesting TB government was as bad as Maggie, but would still have preferred it to be further left. It would be good if that was a precursor to a more left-leaning LP government IMO
