This is not an attack on individuals but on the ethos of conservatism. Since the war the CP has created the myth that they are competent. Recently we have seen:
Incompetence with the economy. Incompetence with benefits Incompetence with state pensions Incompetence with support for business and industry via infrastructure Incompetence in many areas with government administration Incompetence with transport Incompetence in the criminal justice system Incompetence in defence Incompetence in education Incompetence in the NHS Incompetence in running their own election
I am sure there are other areas. Why does anyone vote for this incompetence? Surely we deserve better? .
Don't be ridiculous, Jalima. Wally hasn't been ridiculed and bullied off; he's just been given another point of view. In the case of the railways it was one backed up by evidence which he didn't seem willing to acknowledge.
This is a discussion forum, not an echo chamber. The key word being 'discussion'.
And I never voted Labour while Blair was leader apart from the first time, when I believed he was a socialist. So don't worry, we cancel each other out, Jalima. By the way, when did you last vote Labour? I thought you were libdem.
This will be my last post on this subject we will not agree I can see that but it saddens me to see so much misinformation that is being bandied about. I repeat I am not and never will be a Tory but I cannot support Corbyn and his extremist views.
Wally that's a shame, don't go - yet another poster ridiculed and bullied off for stating the facts as they know them.
and until Corbyn et al are chucked out I cannot vote Labour again. Unfortunately, that means a wasted vote. And I may never see it.
Something like that, mostlyharmless. Not quite sure what they would be keys for. Perhaps he could be the janitor at Westminster Hall. I seem to recall that last year there was a problem about who would be allowed to have the keys.
It wasn't for something to do with trump's visit, was it, in which case we don't want Boris to have the keys, do we?
... it saddens me to see so much misinformation that is being bandied about
You mean people don't agree with your view of it. That's politics and doesn't mean people are misinformed just that they have a different opinion and may hold it just as strongly as you hold yours.
Because I'm sick and tired by the extreme left calling anyone that disagrees with them racist.
I have to admit that a lot of the people I have come across who are opposed to social democracy actually are racist. That obviously doesn't mean they all are but some of them are very extreme - just as they are in opposition to Labour.
On the subject of what should happen to Boris in a cabinet reshuffle, May needs to find a way of giving him a prestigious sounding role without actually giving him any power. To return him to the back benches would invite him to form a rebellious faction which would be dangerous for May and ultimately likely to lead to a hard Brexit.
I can't think of a suitable role though. It would have to keep him too busy to meddle. Deputy PM? Leader of the House? Or a more obscure role?

Unlike you I actually worked for the railways for a while and I saw first hand the inefficiency and absolute waste that went on. People think that if it's public money they can do what they want with it. . The unions of the time held the railways to ransom. With public money being used to prop it up the railways were a complete shambles.
Wally ... you do realise it is possible to oppose what this GVT and Mrs May and friends are doing, without being part of 'extreme left' - as you call it.
Because I'm sick and tired by the extreme left calling anyone that disagrees with them racist. I truly believe that true democracy cannot exist without genuine freedom of speech. The politically correct are just trying to stifle genuine debate. Be careful because once they're in they can do much damage to our economy.
