So please tell me, as I am so dense, what is it about the the Irish border proposals that we should be so delighted about? Is it just that it is staying the same as it is now?

Not moaning - Just questioning the motivations. NI stays in the single market just with a slight different wording as a sop to the nationalists. Open borders, what’s not to like. But hey, we’ve already got those? So the proposals are...everything stays the same! hooray! Crack open the champagne. Oops no - English sparking cider! We’ll change the descriptions slightly so Brexiters are happy, but don’t change any thing so much to make remainders happy and let’s spend £ billions to get there. Sorry if I’m not wetting myself with glee unlike the May supporters.

Everybody was worried ( so they said) on here, about Ireland, could all this endanger the Good Friday Agreement etc, what would happen, it would all be terrible!
Now that everybody on both sides of the border is happy about what has been proposed, all that some posters can do is moan moan moan.

I think lemongrove said “ the Irish problem is solved”, not “the Irish border question is solved” so that’s me - dense.
