I wonder that too, illtellhim. These perpetrators are getting younger and younger, and leads me to believe they are silly impressionable, misguided youths who are in a way preyed upon. Even their parents are shocked and horrified, although there again I guess the youths are of an age where family matters not either. It's all so mixed up with so many influences, what can be done?

varian It was not my intention to stir up anti Muslim feelings but governments must do something before these attacks become more frequent. I was pleased to hear that the Spanish police caught some of the terrorists and I hope they get as much information from them as they can.

Sounds pretty apolitical to me. Slave owners gave their slaves free food and housing. I don't think they were 'left wing'

Wouldn't fancy living in any of the houses in Syria. They have no food, either, now it's all been bombed. No work, either in lots of the towns, as there is no water or electricity.
I suppose there's lots of rebuilding to do, although it will just be bombed again, so no point, really.

Islamic State advertised that their Sharia provided free housing and free food but you work if you wanted to.

I have been reading with great interest all the posts. I agree 100% with everything maddyone has said. It is refreshing that there are so many people who think like I do. It gives me hope. Salafi Islamism is mainly from Saudi Arabia.
That could be why the report into foreign funding of extremist Islamist groups by the Home Office will never be published.

The point Sarah Kahn is making is that terrorist acts commited by people who call themselves muslim has got "something to do with Islam". People keep saying it hasn't. She is saying it has.

Reading between the lines of the official communications from Barcelona, I think the child is amongst the victims, not the injured and they are awaiting for official identification by his father before releasing this information.

Note the word "victim" as opposed to the word "injured" from their previous tweet.

It does not, as you say, bode well, and neither does the conclusion of the article written by Ed Hussain in the Telegraph yesterday in which he states that "Muslims must reject the idea that we need a caliphate. Unless we discard the drive for a Muslim super state, many more will be killed in pursuit of it. Muslim organisations, governments, websites, political parties, religious leaders and educational institutions must roundly and unreservedly accept that we no longer need a caliphate". I wonder to what extent he is spitting into the wind.

The ' Far Right ' is not a term I think of when thinking of Islam.

I would think it is more common to use the term 'Islamic Fundamentalist'. 'Islamic Extremists',

As for ISIS/Islamic Fundamentalists they do not care one jot about the politics of being Left/Right . They just want the irradication of the 'KAFFUR' and that means all of us in the West.

Leanne Wood was politically spinning when using the term 'Far Right ' in conjunction with the murder of civilians by the barbaric group ISIS in my opinion.

According to that article, Leanne Wood was correct. It comes from the far right wing of Islam.

I don't see any criticism for Zac Goldsmith tweeting that it might be a Momentum campaign group attack.

It appeared on the FB Guardian site but I am now seeing reports it isn't true. What I can't understand is why it is so low profile if he is still missing.
