Just watching this on BBC news.
Well done to those who have campaigned to get justice and a change of the rules for rigorous testing of blood.
For those who are affected it is too late but I hope they get some compensation for themselves or their families if they have already died.

Rigby ... enlighten me. I thought all blood was tested for purity before being used.
I was a blood doner years ago.

The real issue in the states is that you are paid when you give blood and so are incentivised to lie. In this case, they were prisoners involved who had sentence reductions for giving blood

This happened many years ago and had been shamefully covered up - ,any of those affected died years ago
