Despite the DUP getting money towards their NHS they have agreed to allow women to travel to Britain for an abortion which no doubt will be paid for by us or will we be sending them an invoice?

Parties do deals in order to bolster their position when parliament is a close run thing. And - as when we had a coalition - this is not necessarily a bad thing because it can temper the government's more excessive plans. But these are national parties representing folk from the whole of GB.

What is so wrong here is that May is delivering a very very large bung to a party representing a particular area which will get a disproportionate share of the money available and will be able to hold May and her cronies to ransom over more favours and skew votes in favour of political policies that are seriously regressive, not to say archaic and fly in the face of reason.

It is wrong on all counts.

Agreed, Luckygirl. The bung is to the party as that is the only party which agrees with the Tory minority government. I don't think you can say that Sinn Fein agree with the DUP just so they can get extra money.

The main difference in views here seems to be about whether such political deals are despicable or not. Some think not, others think they are. That's all there is to it really and, after all, the deal is done and there's nothing we can do about it except rage.

No the main point is whether they are buying votes. Or bribery or corruption.

Sinn Fein will have to agree how money is spent if power sharing agreement is made in NI.If not then DUP will not decide either as power reverts to Westminster. Schools, NHS and transpoert infrastructure will benefit all of NI not just DUP areas.

Surely no one would want another General Election with clock ticking away on Brexit. So really party with most seats securing majority government only way to go until Brexit is complete.

I am a Therese May supporter, but I do draw the line in "getting into bed" with the DUP, probably something to do with my Southern Irish ethnicity. However the the tories are officially the Conservative and Unionist party so.... I fear England, Wales and Scotland will lose out in many ways because of this move.
