Oh Annie that really is too simplistic. We all change our minds - even more when we are educated in a particular area and are then supplied with additional, contradictory information and so we should. Who would want a leader who felt they had nothing to learn and could never change their mind or - worse still - could not admit to having done so as May did this week.

Could you stop talking about people you have decided are 'Corbynites' and describing people who disagree with you as being unable to think Jeremy Corbyn is 'less than perfect'. It really is very offensive. Just because you are completely stuck with one simplistic opinion about him there is no need to attack others who are trying to think these things through without the, shall we say, predisposed opinion you seem to expect others to accept.

Talk about getting your facts wrong. Do you put a spin on everything so it fits in with how you perceive things. If there us anyone less likely to have a dictator ship it is Tories, the other lot have the Marxist leanings.

May did not only change her mind Annie, I think we would all have felt more for her if she had admitted to having done so. It is not just GN members who felt it a) it insulted their intelligence as it was obviously a change and b) she seemed very disconcerted that people would not just accept what she said.

In Bagehot's article in the Economist he puts it that she "performed an embarrassing U-turn on her party's policy on social care for the elderly and then tried to pretend it was a straight line. This is perhaps the first time that a party leader has dumped a central manifesto promise before a general election".

He goes on to talk about the disastrous interview with Andrew Neil and, after conceding that anyone can have a bad week, declares there is a limit to the number of excuses that can be made for someone who is "not only seeking the highest office of the country but presenting herself as uniquely qualified to negotiate a divorce settlement with Europe that could shape the country for a generation."

He also talks about the pattern of consulting too narrowly and also riding roughshod over opposition. Reading this article I would wonder if she is able to deal with failure - a reality in such a position - at all well.

But I am not and I know others are not so you are just name calling - something I am sure you would complain about if anyone else did it. Many of the people on here who challenge you are just trying to get a balance against your extremism and are often rather more against May than for Corbyn. If you were not so extreme in your comments you would not see so many people putting the other side of the argument.

Anyone who can't change their minds when presented with new facts is intransigent, unsure if T May should have done so with the social care policy, but she did so because it was confusing to voters and unpopular.If a PM did this every time, it would look weak, but on certain occasions would be the right thing to do.

I suppose AB what you are saying is you find it difficult, if not impossible, to have a mature and adult conversation where we talk about policy etc., with perfectly nice people who happen not to share your view, but are participating in democratic discussion, without traducing them and calling them names and you expect everyone else to just accept that.

It was the main plank of the T May manifesto RAR and she denied she had changed her mind even though it was obvious - she lied. Apparently (Sunday Times) they are going to have to relaunch and rebrand their campaign because of this.

The thing that has changed is there will likely be a cap rather than a floor, when there is a consultation on it.So she could say, at this junction that nothing has changed,but when the policy is fine tuned after the consultation of course it will be.
