Voting for the West Midlands Combined Authority Mayor

Correct me if I'm wrong, Shandi, but it seems to me that the role of the West Midlands etc is Mayor going to be different from Mayor of Liverpool and especially Manchester, which is going to have a partially devolved budget.

The WM Mayor is going to have a pathetic budget and is going to have to oversee infighting between all the local authorities.

I would have thought one of the Mayor's jobs should be to improve Birmingham's image to outsiders and the inhabitants themselves. It's the UK's "second city" in terms of population,but it doesn't seem like it in status. (Stand back from missiles thrown by Brummies.)

No not Birmingham, Coventry, but still part of the Combined Authority. Yes, Andy Street is one of the candidates but because he was a brilliant Managing Director in retail, I don't think it necessarily means he will be as good in a Mayoral job.
