By the way, that is the firedoor of a community centre that the Tories wanted to shut down. It was saved by a Labour party led campaign.

I think another reason for an early election is the way the economy is shaping up. May has been told to go for it before everything begins to affect people's purses.

It's also becoming more obvious why May called this election, has packed vacant constituencies with favoured candidates and has focused the campaign on herself.

I've read those rumours too. I actually think Spreadsheet Phil is one of the least obnoxious on the Tory front bench, but it's become increasingly clear that May and Hammond don't work well together.

Amber Rudd would make an even worse Chancellor than Osborne, but I can see her getting on with May. They're two peas in a pod.
