Should I vote Labour

Nothing to do with Welsh and Scottish hospitals 'failing'. I don't think the parking charges contributed towards the running of the hospitals anyway.

I'm talking about vulnerable people having to arrive hours early for an appointment for fear of not being able to find a parking space - but don't you worry your head durhamjen your Leader can do no wrong in your eyes.

Daphne, I think I read that Crisis were getting involved with the homeless group that Burnham was setting up, and that affordable housing in Manchester was 30% of the average pay, not 80% as the government thinks.
Burnham is really getting on with the job.

But they could be failing due to other reasons .....

Charging for hospital parking is cruel and should be free but it should be monitored so that people don't abuse it and park all day then go off shopping or on day trips.

Perhaps a modest charge to cover the cost of an attendant to monitor the car parks would be a good idea.

People have been known to use free hospital parking as an extra drive-way if they live nearby and have visitors.

I wonder how Corbyn thinks his proposal to abolish parking fees in all Ennglish hospital car parks is going to work out?

If it's anything like the result in Wales, people will be queueing round the block, double-parking and almost collapsing in tears as the so-called 'overflow carpark' is also full.

Plus, you get workers from nearby towns parking all day and using the bus to get into work because there's no free parking in the town...

Iam I had to leave early as had GDs to pick up from school and everything was running late, so I wasn't there for any walkabout. He stood on the Town Hall steps at the bottom of the Parade and spoke about childhood obesity and the cost of obesity to the NHS in terms of heart disease, cancers and diabetes (a subject I often rant on about myself) and then spoke very passionately against the Tory education cuts.

My daughter's school needs to lose the equivalent of 22 teachers if they are to balance their budget after these cuts, so again a subject close to my heart.

He came across as a genuine man.

None of the TV cameras were pointing my way so there was no point in waving though, but a very respectable turn out. Leamington Spa & Warwick is a borderline Labour/Conservative seat, so it was obviously targeted for this reason.

I have been to hustings in deep dark Mid Wales, so you don't get the leaders but MP's , gets them out of their own constituencies and hear what rest of country think. Suppose their leaders couldn't be bothered to listen to them though.

Now even the cabinet and shadow cabinet are too important to get out there.

I can't be bothered to listen to their staged appearances POGS. Momrntum bus supporters in, this I do know, no idea how the other parties do it , they don't have an organisation like Momentum, suppose they depend on party activists

I don't think many people are fooled or persuaded by the adoration and applause for ANY Party Leader to be honest.

I think we all understand how the party machine works and to be honest I think it turns voters off .

I am not getting at Labour, they ALL do it and the falseness of it all is mildly irritating , unless of course you are an activist then you probably thrive on all the hype and will stand for hours in a field holding your banner for the 5 minutes of photo taking before they bugger off to another town to do it all over again. Sometimes you even see the same face from one venue to another yet they are portrayed as local supporters!

The problem with hustings is they only happen in big towns or cities. Not anywhere near where I live. Or not in a place I can get to, park a car, and see a speaker when the timing is not too precise.
I depend on the news, which means selected soundbites. Or a debate on TV, but T May doesn't want to do that.

Hustings as we once knew them are now avoided ,I miss them , every appearance is arranged to make the public think the politician is adored, applauded , they even choose which reporter can ask a question . I have been to some great ones in the past, open to the public, no specially chosen audience .

I've commented previously that I saw him 3 times during the Hustings before the first leadership debate. I enjoyed what he said and the way he delivered his comments and answered questions. Of course I'll vote Labour but I do wish we had a top team that appeals more to the majority than our current crop of Corbyn, McDonell, Abbot and Emily. Having said that, the way this government has cut public services and added to the huge problem of homelessness, substance misuse etc by cutting mental health etc means it has to be a Labour vote for me.

I'm thinking it's a walkabout as they mentioned The Parade (the main shopping street in Leamington) but I need to go into town anyway so I'll plan it to coincide with his visit.
