I must be so 'alert' to the possibility of something big happening out of the blue e.g. the General Election ... at 07.00 I was in the kitchen making a cup of tea and suddenly heard the National Anthem for no apparent reason. I thought the queen had died and we had a new king!

Turns out to be the queen's birthday.
