The party started to move to the left, voters were not happy with the fact Milliband was the leader elected by the unions .

The personal abuse you offer AB certainly wouldn't help win mine whereas if you were arguing the policies you might. It just makes me wonder if I really could ever vote, almost particularly if it was someone you supported, for the Labour Party. Whoever it was would come under suspicion by association and I would want to know just how much they would be prepared to undermine the democracy of that party. I suppose if loosing your party votes is what you want that must seem a good outcome.

Not in the least AB - nothing you pile on the poor man is worth getting het up about to be honest but it does help me form an opinion of the LP. I was just giving you my truthful reaction to your everlasting pick, pick, picking of the man who was democratically voted leader of your party. I never see you offer policies or an alternative leader although I will admit I have got into the habit of not reading all your posts so I may have missed what you have suggested. I am still open to thinking about such suggestions. I am really interested in what the LP has to offer.

I didn't say that, Annie. I said the Labour party lost 5 million members under Blair. It was actually a lot less ( I'm surprised you didn't pick me up on that) but it halved under Blair, from 400,000 to less than 200,000. It bumped along at roughly 200,000 until Corbyn came in, when it went up to higher than it had ever been under Blair.
By the way, the figures exclude affiliates.

Gordon Brown lost the 2010 election not Blair.

He made a big mistake with his 'Bigoted Woman' comment to labour supporter Gilliam Duffey.

When Labour can't see the view of the working man/woman without calling them bigots then they will loose support from their core voter, or what were their core voter.

I said Blair had lost members. He did. I didn't use the word seats.
Brown gained a few thousand members. Corbyn gained more than double the number that there were in the 2010 election.

The membership is important, as they are the ones who go around on the doorstep at elections.

By the way, you are still using personal abuse of Corbyn. You just can't help it, can you?
People will respect you more if you stop being negative and give your positive views of who you want to lead the party and why.

I don't think (but what do I know, I'm not a member) that Blair or Brown or any other leader lost or looses elections all on their own. From my point of view the LP stopped understanding what the working person needs - and the none working person or the working person in insecure work and (sorry to go on) the young person who cannot even guess what their working life will be like. So, of course, did the other parties but the Tories, at least, seem to have got the message that they need to know. Let's hope there has been more going on behind the scenes of the LP.
