Paul Nuttell is according to the poles is 10% ahead in the Stoke bi-election, so I thought I would look at some of his beliefs. I was astounded at how similar they are to Trumps.
1. Privatisation of the NHS - this has been taken from his website because he needs the votes. Privatisation of the NHS doesn't attract votes.
2. Wants a referendum to vote on restricting woman's rights. He is anti-abortion, and believes that there should be a ban on adverts for family planning and abortion.
3. Burka ban. In all public buildings.
4. Against banning discrimination against gays.
5. So he believes in placing restrictions on Muslim belief/culture, but is against any restriction to Christian beliefs.
6. Thinks sexist comment are OK, and against placing restrictions on these type of comments.
No wonder he was so thrilled when Trump won the election.
Rubbish!!! And you know it
Gillybob
No I wasnt referring to you or any GNetter, but generally to things that were said by Bremain supporters around the Referendum, just as I presume WW was speaking of things allegedly said by Brexit supporters.
Then why post it where and when you did, what prompted it. I suggest it was a reaction to my ukip posts
Thank you Jalima.
I did not accuse WW of saying these horrible things.
WW said
Yes but mair suggested that because I said that it is rather nice to live in a community without the divisive and hatefilled rhetoric of ukip that in fact I as a remainer hate the northern working class and wish old people dead!!!
No I did not.
addressed to ww
I missed that bit
I must try harder.
Whitewav
Once again you assume any observations made about Remainers, or rather some Remainers, are accusations directed at you personally!
It was NOT. I made no suggestion that you personally had said horrible vile things about either of these groups.
And do not use this 'personalising' to try to tell me what words I may use!
There were some Remainers on Twitter and in the media who made truly vile hateful comments. They deserve to be called out.
You should be aware that this was happening, even assuming you wouldnt have dreamed of making such comments yourself!
One Brexiter was MURDERED by his pro Bremain neighbor.
Yes but mair suggested that because I said that it is rather nice to live in a community without the divisive and hatefilled rhetoric of ukip that in fact I as a remainer hate the northern working class and wish old people dead!!! How mad does that sound?
mair is being idiotic and really should watch her language
We are supposed to be playing nicely
Actually, at the risk of agreeing with Mair and upsetting Whitewave
there were younger people expressing anger online at older people who voted Brexit and saying they would soon be dead, why did they vote to leave and counting (or saying they had counted) the number of older Brexit voters who had died since the vote.
I can't remember, but it was discussed on another thread and I think there was a link.
Oh so you sent her off the rails gilly I blame you entirely
I think it might be me that Mair is referring to ww? When I said I can only see a change coming in the next generation. The generation that don't remember the mines and the shipyards. Sad I know, but only then might the town move out of the dark ages.
Where have I ever shown hate to northerners and gleefully anticipating the death of older people? You really need to moderate your languagemair it is disgusting just listen to yourself, it sounds unhinged.
"there is no room for their hate"
There certainly has been plenty of hate shown by Remainers since the referendum, hate towards the Northern working class and the older generation i.e. US for voting Brexit in substantial numbers.
The vile and spiteful language, gleefully anticipating the death of many older people has been alarming. Even older Remain supporters should be alarmed.
We have politicians in parliament in the Tory Party, the Labour Party and the Greens, in the next door constituency it was Lib dem for years but the last election did for them.
We voted remain in the referendum. The Green and Labour MPs voted against A50 the Tory is a remainer.
Don't get me wrong. Politics is lively and full of debate, but no attempt at dividing the populace by pointing fingers at "others". Of course there are those within the community who are supportive of that sort of politics, but they are a tiny minority, and there is no room for their hate.
We haven't got any communists either ana but I didn't think it needed stating as there are no communist parties of any significance in the UK
Hard left is presumably fine and dandy in your world is it, whitewave?
Wish I hadn't started that conversation now as it doesn't come across right.
Yes, spot on daphnedill. Our town had a huge mine that closed in 1993. Apparently it was still very productive when it closed (we have both Thatcher and Scargill to blame for this) although the jury remains out, on whether it was cost effective? Most of the town had relatives working in that mine and many families had three generations working there. Added to this the closure of our ship yards and other heavy industry meant that there were very few jobs to go around. Margaret Thatchers name is still a swear word for some, in these parts.
Oh! I hope that doesn't come as smugness- it wasn't meant but what im trying to say is that life is possible without the hard right, in fact is really rather pleasant and tolerant.
I live in a town that represents all shades of the political spectrum - except the hard right. UKIP has and is very unlikely to have no foothold here. UKIP does exist somewhere in the shadows, but largely ignored.
It is a town known for its tolerance of all styles of life, love of and acceptance of all cultures, and faces Europe with open arms. What's not to like?
That's really sad. I'm guessing you're somewhere around Tyneside. I think it's a disgrace that shipbuilding and mining were allowed to decline without plans for replacement industries. I hope something does work out and that the area manages to replace EU funding somehow.
Money being the one thing that most people are short of in this town daphnedill .
I can only see a change coming in the next generation. The generation that don't remember the mines and the shipyards. Sad I know, but only then might the town move out of the dark ages.
petra last time I looked my taxes weren't going towards paying the French politicians.
