I thought you were talking about our £10 Christmas present from the Government ! 2 bottles of plonk and a loaf of bread would just about do it (so long as they were on the reduced counter)

As for the extra daylight I used it to go out and cut the roses down before the promised storm wobbles them too much.

Kittye, great idea and I'd vote for it but I suspect they'd use it to create a post for someone to collate all the votes, reassign the money and decide which hospitals (in London) should receive the few pence remaining after the wage of the person appointed has been paid.

I have been racking my brains on what to spend Teresesa's windfall on. I could give it to charity, or I could buy some packs of seeds and sow my own vegetables.....Mmmmm. Something to look forward to.

As a S.A.D sufferer, my GP confirmed this years ago, I'm feeling so thankful I've got through the worst! I could so do with some winter sun abroad which was dr advice, but am paying for daughter s wedding so not this year!

NanaK54-- how come you can let the chickens out? We keep geese and the poor things have been penned up in our glasshouse for two weeks now because of the bird flu regulations. It's costing me a small fortune buying them lettuce and carrots because they can't eat their normal grass.

I should probably be on the naughty step but I will buy 2 bottles of wine with my tenner. I normally buy decent wine which has been reduced, rather than cheap plonk. Maybe 2 bottles is pushing it a bit.

I also missed it, must have blinked. I thought that we gained around 20 minutes a week. Anyway it is in the right direction and I can look out my summer clothes any day soon.

pollyperkins we ancient old biddies receive £10 every December from the Government. I have forgotten what it was supposed to be for because that amount will buy very little nowadays and probably costs triple the amount to administer.

I received mine when I was 60 and given my state pension but I do not know now because of the age change re state pensions.

nanaK54---that's OK as long as there's no possible contact with wild birds. Bird flu is the equivalent of foot and mouth disease in cattle. I've just had an email from the NFU and they are very worried about it.

I withdraw my 10.00 when it arrives in the bank otherwise it would just disappear and not even be noticed. I then put it with the 5.00 tokens had accrued during the year at Morrison s supermarket so it goes towards our festive food stuff. I think this was the intended idea when it was first introduced many years ago.
