Yes, they do rationalise their racism. I know they do, but their rationalisation is distorted. It can't be 'cured' by any rational process. Mair is a loser, who turned to racism, because it made it seem as though there are people below him in the pecking order. Racism and xenophobia are supported and stirred up by the tabloid gutter press.

I haven't read anything the DM has said about the case. My comments were completely detached and objective. I was simply stating what I think are true facts.

So, if neither racism nor mental health problems flag up a potential murderer, how would you suggest Jo Cox's murder could have been prevented?

Maybe you agree with the DM and think that he was (allegedly, according to third hand witnesses) harassed by his local authority and not helped by his MP for living in a council house which was too big for his needs. Do you happen to know of any mental illness which explains such an action? I'm afraid I don't.

Not all racists are criminals.

I suspect that people who are racist do 'rationalise' their racially based prejudices. Not saying I understand the process, but I suspect that those racists who think can give what they regard as rationalisations of their choices.

Racism isn't rational, nor is it a mental illness.

Jo Cox's murderer is a racist and has been for all his adult life, according to the evidence presented during the trial.

I don't see him as significantly different from the people who join IS, so maybe the government's Prevent strategy should be used (whatever it is). I don't dispute that his background made him vulnerable to radicalisation - in this case by white supremacist/Nazi influences. That doesn't make him mentally ill.

Maybe the DM tried to suggest that the 'blame' was with his local authority and MP, because it doesn't want to acknowledge its own role in stoking up hatred and encouraging racism and hatred. I see the DM is now trying to 'blame' the Home Office for not realising that Mair held extreme racist views for 30 years.

I have no idea if the man in this murder case was mentally ill , none of us do, I can accept it is a possibility it may be true , may be true not is true

Thought I ought to make all my points separately to avoid further confusion.

And being a psychopath or sociopath is not considered to be a mental illness.

And the overwhelming majority of people with mental illness feel no urge to commit violent crimes.

To put it in even simpler terms, not all murderes and assassins are mentally ill. Not all murderers are psychopaths.
