It is being reported Labour Deputy Leader Tom Watson has called off 'talks's with the Unions/Len McCluskey over Jeremy Corbyns future and refusal to 'stand down'. He is being reported as saying 'There is no realistic prospect of reaching a compromise'
Obvious signs have been there , (noted from the beginning of Corbyn becoming leader for political anoraks) but is this perhaps a challenge that 'if' it does happen might just 'split' Labour into the Parliamentary Labour Party and another group finally calling themselves 'Momentum' as an official opposition party?
There have been a few voices suggesting a Labour Leadership challenge could happen on Monday 'maybe' they are correct.
Interesting to watch.

It wasn't a secret as I said Annie. I have commented on it a couple of times on here.
I think you must see things as more black and white than I do. If somebody says something I agree with I am happy to say so. The idea of being on one "side" meaning you slate everything the other "side" says just seems extremely closed minded to me. I don't think I have been "supporting the far left" just agreeing with some of specific things that have been said and some of the things that people wished to achieve.
So Sarah Champion has now decided that she was mistaken , wonder why the change of mind? Could be several reasons I suppose

Mmm, well I have made no secret of the fact that I was a founder member of the SDP, on the steering committee to get the party going in our area and therefore, as you can imagine, didn't campaign for Labour - it would have been a bit perverse.

Waste of time unless a person being verbally abused can record the abuse and have the name of the abusers. What is needed but cannot be done is to track those who post vile messages on Facebook , am sure that would cut the number of momentum voters allowed to vote

It was Labours objective to vote for Trident.
If anything will destroy the Labour party it is a dodgy leader who has spoken in favour of privatisation of the NHS, voted for Trident and has links with the arms industry and drug companies. Gracesgran, it's my opinion. How is it possible to support a man who will destroy the Labour Party when it is only the Labour Party who will help those who desperately need help? I think the majority care for the vunerable but just caring will not house or feed them
Corbyn is taking the party into the wilderness years , did you campaign during the eighties and nineties and for the 1983 election? If you did have you forgotten how the country turned away from labour because of the mistrust and fear of the far left. You mocked Kinnock for losing the following two elections dismissing how he fought off the far left militants, was hounded by the Tory press yet increased the numbers of labour MP , yet you defend Corbyn who is allowing the far left to control the party. It seems you have left your politics behind and descended to personal attacks whether it is on a person involved in this discussion on this forum, Corbyn or anyone involved on a side you attempting to argue against.
If we hear a lot of this I think you will find the machinations within the Labour Party - whoever runs it and whatever the outcome in September - drive it into the wilderness for many more years.
We fought back when the Trotskyites tried to control the party obieone and won. And just think , far more women LP's now than in the eighties ?woman power
I agree about harm already having been done to the Labour Party.
It is in the midst of it's own civil war[if that isn't tto strong a phrase].
Personally I have always thought that younger people on the whole, change their minds quite a lot as they mature, so they and high level politics dont mix well.
Trisher, it doesn't matter, I want Corbyn out and so have no choice but to vote for Smith I had hoped Angela Eagle would have been a choice. If Smith were to win the leadership -which he will not - he could bring the party together, we will not win the next election so eight years for a strong leader to emerge , most I can hope for.
Sadly Corbyn will win, looking more and more like a Hugh Hefner than a politician for all ages
