Attagirl, Bags! I voted to remain, but I am with you about hysteria.

Some of us lived through war years (as a child, but children have eyes and ears) and I don't remember the adults having such reactions as some of those shown here. Fathers were sent off to extreme danger and a lot didn't return, mothers coped with reduced income and increased heavy toil and responsiblities, houses were destroyed with all the contents and families had to crowd into the homes of relatives, children were evacuated to the care of strangers, lodgers were billeted compulsorily wherever there were spare rooms, businesses folded and jobs vanished, food and clothing was rationed and gardens becamer allotments.

The mood of the country was that WE SHALL SURVIVE More than that, we would rise and prosper - and so we did, because we were determined.

JCB are a private company that has got a world market anyway.

I live in Wales, which is ( by some margin) the biggest recipient of Regional European funding. Wales voted Leave. A decision which I cannot begin to understand.

I am quite literally in despair at what happens now. I am, for the first time in my life, tempted to bury my head in the sand, to forget about future generations, to adopt an 'I'm alright Jack' attitude. The consequences of this LEAVE decision seem so overwhelming that I am at a loss as to what to do that can a) make a difference and b) give me some hope.

Perhaps that's another thread for those of us feeling so bereft after last Friday....'One Small Thing.....'? Not a thread to vent anger or despair, or argue the rights and wrongs, but something positive, to support and comfort those for whom the Leave decision feels akin to a bereavement, with all the shock, pain and bewilderment that brings.

This is only my 2nd ever post, so maybe someone more experienced could take up the suggestion?

On a serious note, I do think Labour are letting their supporters down. This is an ideal opportunity for them to display unity, gravitas and leadership, like Nicola Sturgeon and the SNP are doing, but their infighting is leading to the Tories(well, some of them), astonishingly, looking like wise elder statesmen. Credit where credit is due, George Osborne, along with Mark Carney, is a calm voice in all the chaos. Never thought I'd say that in a million years!

obie I see you would like to see British industry grow again - have you any idea of how that will be achieved.? Already there is doubt about a Tata steel deal now going ahead. We have insufficient people with the necessary skills to teach apprentices- I saw that in some places retired men are now working a couple of days a week to teach their skills to young people. The best engineers are those who do an apprenticeship first and then do a degree.
The investment needed to get any form of industry going again will be enormous so once again we will need to be dependent on foreign funds and then the likely foreign personnel being needed to run the place.

This is an amusing headline about a tiny minority of a particular group of people. It doesn't speak for 99% of those who voted to remain, nor does the article speak for the entire Brexit voter.

Yes undoubtedly this was a vote against the elite, whether those who voted to leave chose the right fight remains to be seen.

However you look at it this country is totally divided. The interests of all the population must be considered in the following coming months and years.

The importance of who we choose to lead us in this vast undertaking cannot be exaggerated.

I have wondered before about a couple of things, but yesterday morning, could have been on the Andrew Neil section, someone mentioned "best of 3" about referendum,s which was a remark I think it was nanaandgrampy made, I think on saturday evening[may have wrong spelling and wrong poster there], and I joked and grinned back.
Unless that remark the poster had picked up from elsewhere herself.

I dont keep speaking to the same people. When I go to social things, I dont keep speaking just to the same people. You can learn all sorts from other people too.

I was taught from a young age, that everyone is important.

I'm not a clever person, I don't know what we have to come,but I know this,all the abuse,in my day to day routine,has come from the inners.I know two people who won't say which way they voted now because of the abuse they've had.And the nasty ones on here,good grief!
