Good soundbite in the debate. Boris wanted a Boris Island in the Thames. We need to make sure the UK doesn't become Boris Island. I see he's already offered Farage a job in his government, along with a seat in the Lords, because he can't manage to get a proper seat in the commons.

There was a programme on last night which showed people living in Lanzarote.
There was a couple there who said they had done really well out of the UK links with the EU so they would vote to stay in.
However, if they lived in the UK they would probably vote to leave. I was actually shouting at them. How selfish can you get?

The list includes that famous socialist Jacob Rees Mogg, along with IDS and Liam Fox. It also includes those who talked out any measure to get more money for the NHS, Christopher Chope, Peter Bone and friends.

Not easy withing families either! Has anyone else found it very difficult to discuss this with close relatives and friends? We were recently in the UK and we had some very difficult moments which we found difficult to deal with.

Osborne says he will have to bring in an emergency budget if Brexit happens. However, 50 MPs will vote against it as they do not want more austerity.
They are the people who voted with Osborne for all his cuts over the last six years. Not that they are just out for themselves, of course.

The exchange rates tend to be far more stable and only vary by a small amount - and often not on a daily basis. The £/€ exchange was under 70p and then remained about 70 for a good few weeks before starting the recent movement till today's level. I actually do watch it day to day.

Watching Gove - he is hopeless.

Expats here are happy as larry, as their high Swiss salaries have shot up again in real terms, and have been ditching all UK investments and transfered their money here in time! Win win for them.

roses those of us who depend on UK pensions in £s which is falling significantly, in countries where the currency is rising- are maybe not so flippant about it. And yes, it will affect the economy hugely- and fatcats will benefit as they are already playing the buy and sell game!

Yes rose and whenever there is a significant movement there is an explanation given - in this case sterling has fallen against a basket of currencies because of fear of Brexit

The € has gone from being 75p to 79.88 in the last few days. I keep a good eye on the two currencies as the exchange rate affects us all the time. The Euro was only 70p a few weeks ago and the $ about 62p

That's always happening -derail I mean. The trick is to pretend it doesn't exist.

My remark a while ago had more to do with accusing others of trying to derail a thread. Nothing to do with views expressed by anyone.

That is up to you Tegan but you can't expect everybody to vote to remain because of that.I have based my vote on what I see ( as do a lot of others) on what is in the best interests of the UK for a long time to come, no self interest in it.
I realise that you will vote that way for a reason ( worry about their jobs) but there are other things to consider ( for me.)
