Yes that's probably it! Any queries about this glaringly obvious sexist behaviour, is just answered with how many women labour have in Parliament!! (congratulations all round!!) Which is is hardly relevant, and not what is at issue here!! Not sure that anyone is going to get anywhere with this particular thorny anomoly, any time soon!!

I think that is what is standing out for me most about the posters on the left wing on this forum. The lack of balance. When two ideals clash, they dont know which to choose.

They are as noticeable by their absence as they were on the Cologne sex attacks thread. I could have predicted at the beginning who wouldn't speak up.

It would be interesting to hear what our left wing brethren on this forum have to say on this subject. Maybe they will spring to these ladies defense or maybe they approve of a male dominated society, illegal in this country of course, that seems to be thriving in certain areas!!! I appreciate need for protecting votes, but surely not at the expense of female emancipation?!!!

I am not surprised by the lack of condemnation or defence on this subject.

I think it would be an uphill battle for all concerned, not least for the women who would on the receiving end of this prejudice 24/7. They would need to be extremely strong minded and resilient. Imo there are no senior politicians of any party who would have the stomach for that sort of battle, so these ladies would be very much on their own except for individual support from well wishers. 'This is England and we don't allow this sort of discrimination, Its the law!!!!' Don't we?! It would appear that we do, hypocrites that we are!!!!!

I dont agree that it is too late as regards cultural issues. Laws and life change all the time.

Now that it has been brought to the attention of Corbyn ( if he didn't already know about it) then it is up to him as leader to do something about it.It needs an investigation and some 'body' not containing any Muslim men, that women councillors can go to to report this behaviour.Some 'body' that has teeth mind you, not a gummy appeasing lot.

Is there anything we can do to support these women? I don't want to just wash my hands or say that ship has sailed and other such metaphors. Its our country and women have rights here. People who think otherwise are perfectly entitled to go to countries where they don't.

I do! and of course it would have been and still will be if anyone pushes it, that's why nothing will alter! A bit of huff and puff maybe, but that'll be it! Hypocrisy on all fronts rules ok, always has and probably always will!

Well if its going on as you seem to believe then it too should be investigated along with anything else untoward that is going on.

I'm afraid it's too late. As in so many 'cultural' issues.
You only have to look at the way the Labour Party have 'got in bed with' leaders of Muslim communities. These are the Muslim MEN who go and tell the community how to vote. They have too bigger hold now, I'm afraid.

I couldn't quite believing what I was seeing, it should be investigated and a stop put to it . The Labour Party should be ashamed if this is really allowed to go on, will be interesting to see if 'other' parties have the same issues I don't see why it would be confined to one party.
