Trouble with younger party leaders is that they do change, and change beyond recognition. Whatever happened to this fresh-faces environmentally-minded chubby faced chappie on a mountain bike, who campaigned on the slogan "vote blue get green" ? The only thing that is left of his green conscience is that scribbly tree his party use as a logo.

It must be easy to play the self-effacing, modest and compassionate 'good guy' when in opposition. It would be interesting to see whether and/or how his attitude to publicity changed if he were ever to become PM.

Tony Blair was the king of PR and "spin" and JC is the opposite it would appear.
There was a video of him singing happy birthday to a woman who was flooded out and giving her a hug. Love him or hate him, you have to admit you'd have to wait a long time before you'd catch the PM or chancellor carrying on like that, singing and hugging people. Whatever next.

It was me who commented about Corbyn not visiting the flood stricken area. However I did not suggest that he came back from his holiday to do so, but rather that he had perhaps visited before he went, or asked another opposition MP do go in his place, apart from a anything else, think of all that positive PR, that has now been lost!!!!! For goodness sake anniebach what does it matter who goes and peers at the floods and who doesn't?Both Cameron, the Prince Of Wales, and local MP's have all visited some of the flooded areas, it seems that if they do they are jeered at ( for daring to be , Conservative/Royal/ Posh) and if they don't go then ditto.?

I think Charles visits these areas because he cares and it's what the windsors use to do

I think gillybob you will find that the P of W has contributed to to flood relief, though of course has not made a song and dance about it. I think quite a lot of people in the public eye generally do much more behind the scenes than we realise.

I can't imagine for one minute "they" (William and Harry) will be sweeping, shoveling and sandbagging in York and although I appreciate the OP was about DC's Christmas message, followed by his apparent lack of Christian Values. I would like to say that many of those people in the public eye (including the royals) pay lip service to disastrous situations such as recent flooding but very rarely put their (own) money/resources where their mouth is.

If they are, they certainly aren't showing it!! As for the Princes (I presume these are the Windsors you are referring to) Who knows where they are or why. Surely it's politicians we're discussing, D.C. in particular, not the Royal Family.
