This week-end saw the triumph of the National Front in France- just over 50% voted, and they got about 1/3 of the vote. Apart from Britanny and the South West, the whole of FRance in now either on the right or the far right. Near us, the whole of Eastern France has voted massively for the far right- and yet these are rural areas overall- with few immigrants- and where so many of them commute every day to work in Switzerland and Germany.
Let's hope that for the second round, next week-end- the almost 50% who didn't bother to vote will- and that the NF will get a humbling lesson- one can but hope.
