The Tories are intent on selling off the NHS to the Americans.

Over 144,000 signatures now on the petition about tuition fees. That's since the queen's speech.

My eldest granddaughter was in the fortunate position of only having to pay £3000 a year for her degree. She had been going to take a year out, but decided it would be daft to pay three times as much.
Her sister lives near Cambridge, and wanted to go there. She'll never be able to afford it if she has to pay even more in tuition fees.

I am sure lots of your grandchildren will be in the same position.

I cannot believe how "green" the Conservatives have become - almost the whole of the Queen's speech seems to have been recycled either from previous announcements or even previous Queen's speeches. They must be busy with something else at the moment and worrying that it may tear their party apart. Hmm.

Amnesty have one about the Human Rights Act. It seems weird that a group like Amnesty are having to try and protect UK Human Rights.

Yes I know about Bill of Rights, but hoping if vote is remain the ECHR will override it. If Brexit -heaven help us.

Yes also about HoL reform. They are all bitter and twisted because they don't have a majority, so will manipulate one instead. What it is really about is their incompetence and lack of ability at forming anything remotely like good legislation. I have never known such an incompetent government.

Bill of Rights and Lords reform will both be in there. The Lords reform is to stop the Lords from watering down the government laws which they try to get through by the back door without any discussion in the commons.
It's a clever government trick, making them more and more like a dictatorship.

Yes, trisher, I agree. They all left Syria together, rather than be killed. They split up because the father came over here to get asylum. Then he applied for the family to join him, but only his wife and younger children can come. It's just cruel.

It must be heartbreaking to know if they are 18 you can be torn apart from them. It is inhuman. They have suffered enough.

Apparently, because he can walk the requisite distance and can rise from a chair, that makes him fit for work. The man is 50, has an ongoing condition and is paralysed down one side. It's just an excuse to cut people's benefits - I don't think there's any real expectation that people of this sort of age and with fairly serious disabilities will be able to find work.

He's also going to lose his ESA allowance, over £150 per fortnight.

Ken Loach does it again. Can't imagine it will move our government to tears, though. They are probably justifying what they do, ready for the papers.

I have just read an article about a man who had a massive stroke and has had a third of his skull removed to relieve the pressure on his brain. He is waiting for operations to put in plates to protect his brain.
He has been told he is fit to work!
