Registering to vote

I have just had to fill in a form online to go on the electoral register for 2014. I was not thrilled to find that I have to specifically opt OUT of allowing our names to be sold by the the council to marketing firms - and the new law is that we have to opt out every year! I think this is disgraceful. This is not what the electoral register is for.

Totally agree Mishap we have just done the same and also think it is disgusting that you have to opt out from having your details sold to marketing firms.
