Eviction of Masai from Homeland

How sad - the profit motive wins again. I will look for the petition and sign.

Signed the petition a few days ago. We visited the area of the Ngorongoron crater a few years ago - and what is happening is tragic. The Masai are being evicted from their own land so that rich foreigners can come shooting game. Please sign if you can to stop this disaster. Thanks

I got the email last week and signed the petition. I've also been through the area and remember with great nostalgia my visits to the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater. I am horrified that the Masai who have lived in a symbiotic relationship with wildlife for centuries are likely to be turfed off their traditional lands for such a vile purpose. Please, everyone, sign the petition and ask your contacts to do so also.

A great documentary at the moment on BBC HD channel on the Great Rift Valley - more about wildlife, etc- but interesting to see the area where many of the Masai live.

Thanks for tip off, granjura. I've just switched on. I saw a good deal of the Rift when I had my five years in Africa. A wonderful environment and I was fortunate to be there before the poaching reduced the prevalence of the big game.
