Well, well ....I Googled the Pure Love Movement that he belongs to, and discovered that it is based a couple of miles away from my home, in Altrincham. It's a small movement - 13 members and I can join for a fiver!

I am just fed up of people saying sorry - my mother used to say 'sorry isn't good enough.... 'Celebs' have easy access to the media and therefore have a responsibility to weigh their words carefully - I would say think before you speak but I doubt he is capable of such activity.

Actually, apologising only makes matters worse. If what he said is, as he says, what he truly believes, however abhorrent to other people, then why is he now backing down and apologising for the remarks.

It suggests that these views are not core to his faith but he is being an apologist for those of his friends are now being charged with sexual offences.

When I came back from the shops, DH was sounding off about what he'd heard on the news about Ken Loach. It took me a while to work out that it was William Roache he meant !
