Paul Ryan is the Repblicans' choice for Romney's running mate. His policies include slashing spending on food subsidies for the very poor, limiting health care provision for older people, and cutting tax rates for the very rich. He is a devout catholic and implacably opposed to abortion for any reason. He likes to kill animals and can be pictured a la Putin.I am sure there are quite a lot of people in the UK who will applaud him - he makes me shiver.
