Excuse my intrusion please Ladies, but Jo4--- rhymes to "Daughter", could be - slaughter, or, mortar, or porter, to mention a few. But I'm a slow, one finger typist (2nd class), so have more time to think! I'll leave quietly!
I like Land of Hope and Glory. I have no problem with God making us mighty and as God is the same as Allah and Yahweh and the Hindus have many gods then the word sort of covers most faiths. Buddhists won't mind because they won't see he point of causing confrontation. The pagans will be able to say the god is the Earth Goddess. The only people who may not be happy are the non-God people.
Perhaps we could change the word 'God' to something else that fits. We could run a national competition.
I like the British Grenadiers tune so maybe contemporary lyrics could be written to go with it..could be a national competition for school kids ..but who would judge!!
What about a tune with a boogie woogie rhythm? We may not be able to sing or whistle to it but we wouldn't be able to stand still. The first dancing anthem.
Callin' out around the land, are you ready for a brand new beat? Celebration's here and the time is right for dancin' in the street. Dancin' up in Glasgow (dancin' in the street) Down to Brighton & Hove (dancin' in the street) In old York City
All we need is music, sweet music, There'll be music everywhere There'll be swingin' swayin', and records playin, Dancin' in the street
