"She isn't in" (sh'intin). Lots of examples like this as we tend to run words into each other. Stands need is used disparagingly when a person does something they really shouldn't be doing, usually out of their earshot!
We pass through Ruddington every time we go to Nottingham. DH and DS are Forest Supporters so pass through regularly!
Mardy is a fabulous word!! Really descriptive! We used it in Derbyshire, where I grew up, and it is commonplace in Leicestershire where I have lived for 50 years.
Willynilly I've always lived in Nottingham (born and bred) but have never spoken like that . I loathe the word "mardy" as well - it's a made-up word, I think.
Willynilly, I used to play at the Elms Park rec. ? DH and I are coming down in the Spring for a wee nostalgic visit for me as it's going to be my 70th. I'm on the Rudd Facebook site, and I see how many changes there have been - as you said to Mazgoli, it looks far too overpopulated now.
Hi all, sorry only just seen all these messages, for some reasons my notifications are not coming through.
I can't do this week, away from tomorrow till Saturday and working today. Next week my husband is having surgery (already postponed twice by QMC) so I think I may have to leave meeting till January.
Does the afternoon of 14 January suit you all? In Rudd or city centre?
