I've checked with Edinburgh if I can use my Twycross pass and they say it's ok. My son's leaving on 5th or 6th so the week after that is best for me.

Getting closer now - travel and hotel booked, Avon stuff bought to ward off midges up in Knapdale.

We must decide when we meet for the zoo, Tegan and see whether anyone else wants to join us. Marelli says she might be there.

Yes Elegran I'm booked on the 10am Glasgow-Inverary, arriving at 11.45.

Such a pity that neither Marmight nor Marelli can manage

It seems that Marmight cannot make that date, and Marelli was going to travel with her.

Well, I've found routes by bus/coach that arrive in Inverary via Glasgow at 11.00 am or 11.45 am.

Will anyone else be going up by bus/coach? Baubles?

The Crinan basin and canal are favourite places of mine, it always has a magical feel about it whenever you visit.

Kilmartin

I second that thought on Kilmartin, a pretty place with a lovely church and interesting museum.

Tho Im not joining the trip, If you are going to Knapdale, a good option for a bit of culture is Kilmartin

There are dolmens, Dunadd burial place of the kings of yore, and a nice wee village.

Also Crinan, the canal, hotel , Para Handy puffer in the basin, I hope it is still there!

I was in Inverary last week on my return journey from Oban and realised that there was probably a bus from Glasgow. Having checked the timetable I've decided that that's how I'll get there.
